Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones has spoken of his delight at the capture of Chris Kirkland.
The former Liverpool and England goalkeeper joined the Owls this week from Wigan on a two-year deal.
"I am absolutely delighted that we will have a goalkeeper of Chris's pedigree - this is a major coup for Sheffield Wednesday," Jones told the Sheffield Star.
"He is an extremely talented goalkeeper who still has a lot to prove and is still hungry for success.
"I know some people will talk about injuries he has had but he has been fit for two seasons and he is in his prime.
"I tried to sign him when I was at Cardiff but the move was blocked. This time I have gone one better and I couldn't be happier."
