Hereford v Shrewsbury preview

Team news ahead Saturday's League Two clash between Hereford and Shrewsbury at Edgar Street (1pm).

Stefan Stam has joined Simon Clist and Joe Heath on the sidelines ahead of the derby clash.

The centre-back, who has only recently returned after knee problems, was forced off at half-time in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Oxford complaining of inflammation in the area and now requires a short period of rest.

Midfielder Clist and defender Heath (both groin) missed the clash altogether and the pair to continue to sit out.

Benoit Dalibard serves the final game of his three-match ban picked up following his dismissal against Bristol Rovers earlier this month.

Defender Ben Purkiss joined the club on Wednesday following his release by Oxford and will be hoping for involvement as the Bulls aim to end a run of four successive defeats to their local rivals.

Shrewsbury will be without influential pair Shane Cansdell-Sherriff and Marvin Morgan.

Centre-back Cansdell-Sherriff has been ruled out for at least a month with suspected ligament damage to his shoulder sustained in last weekend's 2-1 victory over league leaders Southend.

The win was made all the more impressive after Town were forced to play over an hour with 10 men following the dismissal of Morgan for a challenge on Jean-Paul Kalala.

The Shrews striker now starts a three-match ban at Edgar Street, which also sees him miss the forthcoming games against Port Vale and Torquay.

Carl Regan is likely to step into defence for Cansdell-Sherriff, while Terry Cornell and Tom Bradshaw will compete to replace Morgan up front.

Midfielder Nicky Wroe will look to get more minutes under his belt, likely from the bench, having made an earlier-than-expected return from two broken metatarsals as an injury-time substitute last weekend.
