Nick Candy looks the perfect new owner for Chelsea a life long Chelsea fan and as part of his proposal he also wants to build the new Stadium so it would be a £2.5 billion purchase and £1.5 billion to build the new Stadium.

His offer I suspect would be well accepted by Roman in terms of him being the right profile to be the new owner and his seeming commitment to build a new Stwdium.

The key issues with this bid would seemingly be:

    1) Can Nick Candy get together the necessary funds to buy the Club.

    2) Who might his partners be?

    3) Can any sale be completed before the UK Government sanctions Roman?

    4) Will £2.5 billion be an acceptable offer to Roman?

And then there’s Jamie Reuben ……..

These last couple of days we have started to see names of potential new owners interested in making a bid from the UK, one of which is Newcastle United’s part-owner, Jamie Reuben, according to Goal.

Reuben’s family are reportedly worth £21.5bn and he is a Chelsea fan. Of course, Blues fans did their homework right away on their potential new owner, and the results are simply magnificent. His social media activity prove he’s a Chelsea fan from a long way back.

As I don’t live in the UK, I have no idea who this person is. Is he a fan of sport, any sport? I am a bit concerned with the word ‘partners’. Having a sole owner like Roman Abramovich (not partners, not a consortium) made life easier for a football club. The decision can be made quicker.

Not sure also with somebody already owning another Premier League club. Can he focus?

But in all cases, again I would prefer UK owners than Yanks.

Both commited Chelsea fans Aindro from way back. Jamie Reuben would have to sell his shares in Newcastle to progress any bid for Chelsea.

    Blue Lion ditto.

Seemingly Roman is committed to finding the right owner to take the Club forward which is good news. Getting it all done before sanctions may hit and ties us up in knots is very important.🤞

Nick Candy has assets of less than 1 billion and even if brings in a partner which he would obviously have too his not wealthy enough for the clubs long term never mind even buying it.

Spot on Moos which is why I posted

“Can Nick Candy get together the necessary funds to buy the Club.”

He certainly couldn’t buy the Club on his own he’s got the right profile though but it would all depend on who partnered him and the funds they could get together collectively.

Jamie Reuben however again with the right profile and “According to the Sunday Times Rich List – which was most recently published in May 2019 – the Reuben Brothers are worth £18.66billion. That places them as the second richest family in the United Kingdom.7 Oct 2021”

“Jamie Reuben, the son of billionaire property investor David Reuben, is exploring a bid for Chelsea Football Club, the storied London franchise put up for sale by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, according to people familiar with the matter.

Reuben, 34, is considering bidding on a personal basis, although he may use some of his family’s wealth, said the people, who asked not to be identified as the deliberations are private. Reuben brothers Simon and David own about 10% of Newcastle United, the Premier League football club that was recently bought for 305 million pounds ($400 million) by a consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The brothers each have a net worth of about $7 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.”

    Could be interesting?

Time will tell on all bids which are all allegedly due in by 15/03 and then any sale has to beat any sanction attempts by the Government?

Are there any official bids that have been submitted to Raine groups? Or all these is just rumours or only statement of interests from some people with money?

Aindro, no one knows outside of Raine,Roman and any bidders themselves whether any bids are officially in yet but everyone has up to the 15/03 to submit their bids that’s the cut off date. Things should get clearer within a week or two of that date.

My concern is whether the Government implement sanctions prior to a sale going through which could tie the operations of the Club up in knots.

I’ll bite. Let’s have fun with all the rumours and interests. It’s the future of our beloved football club!! I just found this article today: https://www.espn.com/soccer/chelsea-engchelsea/story/4612715/chelseas-roman-abramovich-receives-multiple-bidsnone-match-3bn-valuation-sources

From that article, it seems that there are at least 2 bids. From the consortium led by the Swiss living in the States and from the Turkish billionaire.

March 15 is not long. And the bidders know that and will surely take advantage of Roman’s situation with the UK authority. Roman Abramovich would probably have to sell Chelsea under his valuation. The bidders won’t budge I guess, they know that Roman doesn’t have a choice but to sell before March 15

Aindro putting a low bid in in a bidding war could be risky but I agree with you I don’t think the bids will probably hit £3 billion and it’s a strange situation because Roman intends to give whatever he receives away anyway.

I also think Roman will put a lot of emphasis on who he thinks is best to take his legacy forward and it may not be all about the highest bid.

Nobody knows how tomorrow will look like, as no one saw Roman coming and changing Chelsea and with it changing the face of English football. These past two weeks, people were speculating that, once Roman sells the club, they will stop being competitve and will not win anything. Most of those who hold this view are our close neighbours who feel we have stolen their God given right to success.

When Roman bought Chelsea, he invested wisely and put a strong system in place. All those 19 years, Chelsea has rarely been in trouble. When Uefa put introduced the shite FFP in 2011, he knew, Chelsea were among the clubs that had been the inteded target of the FFP, he invested heavily in the Academy which has become the hen that lays the golden eggs. Despite its limited stadium, Chelsea collects the fourth most revenues in the PL. And has a squad that are mostly young and talented players, Havertz, Mount, Pulisic, Hodson Odoi, Reece James, Chalobah, Sarr are all under the age of 25. Werner, Ziyech, Kovacic,Chilwell, Rudiger, Loftus Cheek are under 30.

Plus add Gallagher, Broja, Gilmour and Colwill from our loan army. Then you will understand that Roman has done more than spending on Ready made players.

The most important people to retian right now are Marina and others.

I first thought that abramovich could agree to sell based on who he thought was right but then the sale would be completely overseen by government nine. The short interview with Candy linked above though and he mentions best bids by next Friday?

Hopefully, if the clubs isn’t being sold for someone to make a profit it’s more likely that they will look at who is the best owner for the club and not just the highest bidder. Candy is British, a Chelsea fan, and is already laying out his vision of how he wants the club to be run. I hope the government listens!

I’m with you BL hopefully Nick Candy has the financial resources. He seems perfect.

Best bids presumably could be monetary and proposed strategy for the Club.

According to Matt Law of the Telegraph we should know the winner within a week to 10 days but it will take circa 6 weeks to all go through.

Been widely reported Aindro although I saw an article denying it too so who knows. Seemingly there is a lot of interests and everything will be much clearer after Friday. Personally if possible I hope we steer away from any politically sensitive bids.
