Frazer Richardson knows Southampton can now afford to feel sorry for themselves as they bid to get their promotion bid back on track.
Saints were sent tumbling out of the cup by Millwall on Tuesday night, throwing away the lead to lose 3-2 at St Mary's.
Nigel Adkins' side have also wobbled in the league, winning just one of their last six outings to slip four points behind leaders West Ham.
But, ahead of Saturday's game against Burnley, Richardson told the club website: "We can't feel sorry for ourselves. We didn't play very well against Millwall but it gives us a chance to concentrate on the league.
"The manager is always going to be annoyed when we throw away a 2-1 lead but there's no-one more disappointed than the players themselves.
"It's a tough time at the minute and we're struggling to find a good run of form, but it's up to us as players and as staff to turn it around, and the way we do that is by winning on Saturday against Burnley."
