Shrewsbury are heading into Saturday's showdown with Southend brimming with confidence, according to manager Graham Turner.

Fifth hosts top at the Greenhous Meadow with Shrews the only team in League Two still unbeaten on home soil this season after this weekend's 2-0 victory over fellow high-fliers Gillingham.

Southend are set to prove the sternest test to date, though, as they lead the table with an unrivalled nine victories on their travels, and also having seen off Town 3-0 at Roots Hall in late September.

"We know what to expect," Turner said. "They're a well-organised, decent and hard-working side, but from our point of view we've had a good record at home this season and we go into games full of confidence. We'll look forward to it."

Meanwhile, defender Reuben Hazell returned to full training on Monday having been sidelined for close to four months with a knee injury. Reserve-team games are now on the agenda for the 32-year-old in order to build his match fitness.
