Paul Sturrock was happy to see Southend get back to winning ways at Roots Hall as they beat Stockport 3-0 in the FA Cup.
The Shrimpers had triumphed in just one of their previous home games this season.
"The most important thing was to get the victory and get back to winning ways at home," said Sturrock. "The last few matches we've had at Roots Hall had been a bit frustrating and disappointing so to win 3-0 against a good side is very pleasing.
"We had a few players out there who weren't fully fit and it was great to see Barry Corr score in his first start for quite some time.
"It was a real gamble putting him in the starting line-up but I think it paid off and he took the goal well.
"He certainly gives us something different when he plays and hopefully this will also give his fitness a boost to enable him to push on from here. However, I very much doubt he will be able to play much of a part when we go to Bristol Rovers on Tuesday."
