Robinho goal caps City win over Iron

Robinho signed off with a flourish with an 84th-minute goal to seal victory for City in what will probably prove his last game for the club.

The £32million Brazilian started the day by telling a radio station he was leaving Eastlands and ended it with the goal to secure a fifth-round tie at home to Stoke.

Despite Martin Petrov’s superb third-minute opener, the home side hit back to equalise through Paul Hayes (29) – although the goal should have been chalked off for offside.

Nedum Onuoha restored City’s lead just before the break and a 30-yard exocet of a shot from Sylvinho put the visitors two goals up on 57 minutes.

Dedrick Boyata’s own goal (69) set up a nervy finish until Robinho sealed the win.
