Torquay manager Martin Ling has set his side the challenge of securing a top-three spot in League Two.
The Gulls beat Northampton 1-0 on Saturday to register their fifth successive win, and Ling wants his players to keep looking up.
"We will be aiming as high as we can and that means top three," he said.
"I am not saying we are going to get into the top three, but if we aim top three and end up in the play-offs that can be our safety net."
Ling also revealed he will be happy when Tuesday's transfer deadline passes, adding: "We are right in amongst it now and with the run we are on, one defeat in 14, we shouldn't be looking to sell our players. But sometimes, as club the size we are, you have no choice in the matter.
"I would love to turn the phone off now until Tuesday night and then, when I turn it back on, use it to top ourselves up with a loan signing and move on."
