Torquay boss Martin Ling declared his delight after seeing his side secure a 2-1 win over League Two leaders Gillingham.
Gills striker Deon Burton volleyed the leaders ahead on 52 minutes, before Gulls midfielder Nathan Craig levelled direct from a free kick three minutes later. The comeback was completed by left back Kevin Nicholson, who scored the winner with a deflected 30-yard shot.
Ling said: "I thought we deserved the win tonight even though the two goals might have been slightly fortuitous. Now the key is getting another home win against Morecambe on Saturday. We haven't had back-to-back wins since March and it would be nice to do it here (Plainmoor).
"People will say we have beaten the leaders and so we can beat anyone here. I believe we can beat anyone here on our day but Morecambe will not be easy. It depends which Torquay team turns up and hopefully it won't be the one that played like they did in the first half against Bristol Rovers.
"There is a lot of character in our dressing room and the boys showed that tonight. We went a goal behind but Nathan has scored minutes later. It looked like a cross to me but the main thing was he put it in the right area.
"Kevin's goal also took a deflection that looped it over their keeper and they won't be happy with that and I can understand that but I thought we had good first half chances to have taken the lead and we didn't take them. Besides, we haven't had much luck this season so we will take that."
