Tranmere youngster Cole Stockton has the ability to become a permanent fixture at Prenton Park, according to boss Les Parry.
The 17-year-old striker came off the bench to make his Rovers debut in Tuesday night's goalless draw with Rochdale, almost snatching a dramatic late winner, and earned plaudits from Parry and Welsh.
"He didn't do himself any harm," said the Tranmere manager. "The lads gave him a round of applause and we said he went on and looked like one of them."
Rovers captain John Welsh added: "We've had a lot of injuries but the lads coming in have been doing well.
"We've seen Cole come on, who was brilliant when he came on - he didn't look out of place.
"So that's a positive for the club and hopefully he will come good for us."
