Richie Barker is still not considering promotion, despite Bury moving within four points of the play-offs after beating Walsall.

The Shakers took the lead when David Amoo's cross was deflected into his own net by Mat Sadler and although Walsall equalised through Jamie Paterson's 25-yard free-kick, Peter Sweeney curled one of his own in off a post a minute later.

Barker, whose side climbed up to ninth, said: "We still need to get to 50 points as quickly as we can. We can't take our eye off that ball.

"A gap is opening up at both ends of the table now. There's a gap between the top and us, and a gap between the bottom and us.

"If we're sat in the same place come the second week in May, I think everyone would take that. It was a good start to 2012 in terms of getting the three points, but it wasn't the most attractive game of football.

"We've played better than that, but there are loads of times when you have to scrap out results, so we've done what we needed to do."
