Dean Smith paid tribute to record-breaking Walsall goalkeeper Jimmy Walker after he kept a clean sheet in a draw at Brentford.
The veteran goalkeeper, 38, had little to do in his 530th league appearance for the visitors as the Bees' toothless forward line drew a blank.
Walker's best save came from Brentford midfielder Marcus Bean just before the break when he dived full length to tip the midfielder's low drive to safety.
Smith said: "It's a terrific record and one that I don't think will ever be beaten because football has changed.
"It's fitting that he kept a clean sheet, but by the end of the game we were slightly disappointed that we couldn't make it three points for him."
Smith said Walker, who played his first game for the West Midlanders in 1993, could continue for as long as he had the appetite, adding: "He's fighting fit so he could go on for another year or another week. We will have to wait and see."
