Wigan have announced they will travel to Oman for a warm-weather training camp next week.
They will also play a friendly against the Oman national team - for whom goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi is the captain - while in the country.
The Premier League bottom side do not have a fixture for a fortnight after this Saturday's derby against Bolton due to their elimination from the FA Cup.
Manager Roberto Martinez told the club's website, www.wiganlatics.co.uk: "This is a key time of the year for us as we prepare for the remainder of the season.
"Our trip to Oman will offer us a great chance to prepare well and in good surrounds.
"Ali is of course one of our key players and he is very happy for us to be heading to his homeland."
