Manchester United lost the most days to injury last term, while champions Manchester City recorded the least number of Premier League injuries.
The study, undertaken by www.physioroom.com, recorded every bump and bruise in the Premier League last season with a 'significant' injury to be one where a player was unavailable for competitive matches for at least 14 days as a result of that specific injury.
The data found that United had 39 significant injuries last term and lost a staggering 1681 days to those problems, with captain Nemanja Vidic one of their key absentees for much of the season.
Vidic suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in December 2011 after making just six Premier League appearances. And defensively it was down hill from there on in for United as Blackburn and then Newcastle both scored three times against Sir Alex Ferguson's men in the space of five days.
But it was Michael Owen who was the player missing for the single longest spell for one injury with 193 days out with a thigh problem between November and May.
Darren Fletcher's bowel illness also meant he missed 152 days and Tom Cleverley's ankle problem kept him out for 102 days.
In direct contrast to United, their deadly rivals City lost only 186 days to injury - making the club's players the least injured in the top flight with just seven significant problems en route to the Premier League title.
The single most significant injury for City was Nigel De Jong's ankle problem. That kept him out for 39 days in August and September with City's six other significant injuries involving Sergio Aguero (twice, groin in October, then foot in March-April), Aleksandar Kolarov (groin November to January), Vincent Kompany (calf, March), Joleon Lescott (groin, March-April) and Pablo Zabaleta (thigh, March).
Tottenham also suffered badly on the injury front with 36 signifcant problems, while Champions League winners Chelsea got off lightly with only 13 injuries and just 356 days lost.
