Mick McCarthy has challenged his Wolves players to plug the gap left by on loan midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong being ruled out for the season.
Frimpong has returned to parent club Arsenal after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in a challenge with QPR midfielder Joey Barton on Saturday.
Fellow midfielder Karl Henry is also unavailable through suspension for Sunday's derby home with West Brom.
But Wolves manager McCarthy said: "As ever, we just have to get on with it now and someone else will get a chance to stake their claim in the team.
"It's very disappointing for us but even more so for Manny who had made a big impression since he came here."
The one consolation for McCarthy is the return to fitness of midfielder Jamie O'Hara after two months out of action following a double hernia operation.
