Gareth McAuley hopes West Brom can build on their impressive away record this season and claim derby success over arch-rivals Wolves.

Black Country rivalries will be rekindled on Sunday when the Baggies make the short journey to Molineux.

Local pride and three vital Premier League points will be on the line, with both clubs looking to edge away from trouble towards the foot of the table.

McAuley is hoping to play his part in what he hopes will be a productive afternoon for West Brom, with the club having fared better on their travels this season than they have on home soil.

On the Baggies' away form, he told Sky Sports News Radio: "It has been good. We have picked up five wins away from home, which is probably what you expect to pick up at home.

"The pressure is probably on Wolves to get the result, but we both need the points. Hopefully it won't be an edgy game and we can play some good football."

McAuley linked up with the Baggies last summer, meaning this weekend's game will represent his second taste of derby day in the West Midlands.

Having already experienced the highs of one win over Wolves this term, the Northern Ireland international admits he cannot wait to line up against Mick McCarthy's men again this weekend.

"We wish the game was today, so we could get our teeth into it," he added.

"The experience in the home game this season, the 2-0 victory and the atmosphere in the crowd, we're buoyant going into the game.

"We obviously know that it's going to be difficult going to Molineux, but the atmosphere will be equally as good and we can't wait to get going.

"If we can get a good start and get on top, it all turns round and we can put pressure on Wolves."
