McAlinden makes Fleetwood return

The 21-year-old struck twice in five games during a spell with the Cod Army earlier in the season before Wolves recalled him ahead of schedule.

McAlinden started Wolves’ next game against Birmingham but he has not started a Sky Bet Championship game since and the Midlands club have elected to farm him out to Fleetwood once more,

“We are delighted to have signed Liam on loan until the end of the season,” Cod Army boss Graham Alexander told his club’s official website.

“We know Liam from his previous spell which was cut short when Wolves recalled him.

“We have been patient and we knew there was a possibility he could be available for loan and we have kept in contact with Wolves.

“Liam adds fantastic competition up front. He scored a couple of goals for us earlier this season but his general play…he is a little bit different from the other forwards we already have.

“He is a great lad to work with and he is very popular with the other players. It was a no brainer and we are delighted to have him back on board.”
