Gary Johnson is targeting three more players before the end of January as he looks to bolster his Yeovil squad.

The former Bristol City boss resumed control at Huish Park on January 9 after a six-and-a-half-year absence and has immediately set about remodelling the Glovers' playing options.

Joe Edwards, Sam Walker, Kelly Youga and Dean Parrett have all arrived to combine with several outgoings - not that Johnson is finished yet.

"We've got to bring in one in each area. You need good competition and if we can bring in what we would class as competition for first-team places then that makes everybody lift their game, lift their training and that's what we've got to do," he told Press Association Sport.

"Being successful is all about players and having the players who are at the next level and then you might get there. We're still waiting to see what might come up but of course there are targets there, some are short-term some are long-term.

"We've got a hard-working management team here and there's some good lists that we've got to go through. Some have been crossed off because they're not available or the situation's not right but in the end you'll get two or three from the 100 you had written down."
