Wow,no better feeling than that kind of a game.I expected a tough test.Brentford were good they followed it up with a clear game plan. But we were better.Denied a clear pen on trossard and one on gabriel which you see them given every now and then.

We’ve finally become the team Arteta envisioned us to be.I don’t think he can do much better, now it’s down to getting better players than City probably do.

Kai Havertz, take a bow.I think all the doubters should eat their words. It’s no surprise his best position has finally been established as a false 9.
Which in modern football is a but of a hybrid striker midfeilders.Constantly interchanging.Arteta signed him for his traits. We play better with him in that position. He makes the team better. He has unique qualities. And now he’s scored a couple of match winners as well.Important ones.

60m down the drain….Kai havertz scores again !!

A very impressive performance overall but in the first half we were superb.
The intensity we played with, winning the ball back so quickly after losing posession.Being in the right areas to win the ball back.Winning 1v1 duels.
Newcastle didn’t know what to do and we forced them into making errors.

In the past 3 games,we have been exceptional and finally arrived into this season. It
s the kind of football city play at their best.

Also,Havertz has finally started to click for us.He was always a good player but you have to know how to omtimise his traits and it’s no wonder that he is best suited in that false 9 position.
He use to do the same at chelsea, drop deep to create space for others.he’s done it against the best of players in that position. So trying him out in that midfield position was just not the greatest idea.

    Jorginho was superb as well

That moment for the goal was pure naivety and it’s clear Arteta instructed them to go for the win.A draw away at porto to get the game back home and try to win it is not at all a bad plan. What was this stupidity to go for the win.

But you know what I felt more silly about from this team, that was in no ways a goal scoring oppurtunity.Yet,we always give the other team space and try to defend instead of just stopping them to reach the final third itself. With jorginho and rice,I expected atleast one of them to close galeno down. And Raya’s positioning for the goal was horrendous.

This goal just made the tie a lot more tougher to win because make no mistake Porto are a good side and historically the best team in their country.
So so frustrating that goal to concede.

Jeff – I think he dosen’t play martinelli as a no 9 because he is more suited outwide. He comes deep to collect the ball.stays wide.Always there as an option. His main strengths are to beat players one v one.
I love him.And saka. They really are two of our crown jewels and I say this because we don’t have any other players as them.
I also reiterate, they do not perform the role of classic wingers like salah for Liverpool.
These two have a much tougher job because they come deep to collect the ball and usually have atleast two players to tackle to go nearer to the goal.
    The system has evolved.

As for kai,I never expected him to suddenly start scoring and assisting. If he hasn’t done it at chelsea for 3 years there’s no reason to do it now.His strenghts are kind of invisible.
As long as the team is playing well I don’t have an issue.

Even the german coach has constantly said he’s a special player and even tried to fit him in at left back.

The thing what I liked most about the west ham game is trossard at 9 and havertz in that no 8 role but it’s not always like that. They interchange quite a bit and that leaves the other teams guessing.

For a successful team unpredictablity of systems is absolutely crucials.Look at pep,he’s constantly changing it every single season and look at the amount of trophies he’s won in the process.

Wow wow wow. That is probably the best performance I’ve seen Under Mikel Arteta for us.

It was symphony the whole game.Make no mistake they’re a tough team to beat at their own stadium but we treated it like a training game.
Every player was exceptional. The tactics were outstanding. The positional play and awareness is good.
The players are finally starting to understand the way Mikel wants them to play with Kai Havertz in the team who I can say has finally fit in and performing the role only one man had envisioned for him.

Saka, what a player. So consistent. He’s the kind of player who brings so much excitement in you that makes you get off your seat. He’s a dancer really.
Odegaard was superb as well getting in those pockets of space.
Declan,no words to say anymore.I always said that was too much of a fee for any defensive midfielder but till now he’s proven every penny worth.

Our two centre backs were fantastic.

    Trossard is magic.

Fantastic result. It was a statement win and proves how far we’ve come. There’s certianly a sense of maturity. We are finally getting results against big sides this season atleast until now.

Jorginho was superb. He controlled the game well.Ideally we need a player of that sorts in midfield.
I suggested nicolas barella he would be perfect for us.
Havertz yet again is most efficient in that CF position dropping back into midfield making space for Martinelli and saka to run in behind.
I’ve said it many times, that’s his best position.
    Trossard as well,great cameo.

Still in the title race,I think City are way too strong but we have to do our best to keep up.

Jeff – Apparently we’ve been in for a full back but it’s no surprise we’ve failed to sign one because this club is incapable to make the right signings at the right price espescially when it’s needed the most.

Zinny is a good footballer but a liability defensively.his back up is kiwior, who against seems to have potential but has been atrocious for us and cost us many important games.

We dont have even one overlapping full back in our squad that makes our whole system and style of play way too predictable as we have only one style of playing.
Arteta might have set up his team to be title contenders but there are still so many elements missing to go all the way.

Letting tierney go on loan when we desperately need a player like him should be a criminal offense.
Utter stupidity and it is small deicions like this that have a huge impact when competing for the title,

Yes,it’s not ideal the way we play.By that I mean it’s still not at the same level as City and Liverpool during their PL truimphs over the previous years. However, you have to understand Arteta’s mentality. His set up and tactics are based on a side capable to challenge for the title.Just look at the amount of Xg we concede,it’s amongst the least in the league. We hardly give a sniff to the opposition.

It’s still not the best.I think city and us more or elss have the same set up,except they have much better players. They have much better options and they have a much thicker squad. We have yet again failed to make use of this transfer windows when every man and his dog knows this side is incapable of going all the way.
    We need better quality.

Bingo – Yes we need experience as well but most importantly we need different players and options on the bench.Kiwior is a joke,I’ve just seen the goal again.Ramsdale was easily going to punch the ball away but kiwior aimlessely headed it into our own net and cost us the game.An important game, our only real shot at a trophy and we bottled it.

I almost usually never point out mistakes but that’s amateurish defending by kiwior who hasn’t been great for us.Apparently there are a lot of european clubs chasing him so I say get rid and recoup the investment on him and re-invest that amount on the sporting defender.

We battered you all game until klopp got on that right back and shifted trent to midfield which was a sign of great in game management.
    It was a game changer.

The difference is you have options to mix things up in game,we don’t.

I still back Arteta and will always do but there’s no denying he’s naive.
Letting Tierney go on loan when he’s a 40-50m player.Disgraceful decision.
Genuinely think if we had him yesterday we’d have won.

I’m fed up with this team honestly.I’ve read after the game many fans not wanting to blame Arteta. He is the one to blame because at the end of the day he is the one responsible for the results.
Yes,performance wise we were not bad but the decision to stick with the current strikers when there’s no evidence whatsoever they are title winning material.
Nketiah is a midtable level player.
Havertz,I think it’s time Arteta admits he’s been a flop overall.A few games here and there and although I still feel just in terms of tools he has in his locker he is a very good player, the idea with which we signed him was clueless.
He cant play in midfield and as a false 9 he dosen’t have the efficiency in front of goal. He’s one of those few players that can only be at his optimal if the team around him is perfectly designed to cater him.But that’s not the sign of a top player because a top player makes do in a team and imporoves them no matter the circumstances.

Worst decision – Letting tierney go on loan. And sticking with that idiot kiwior.
Last season he messed up against brighton and this season he scored an own goal to end all realistic hopes for a trophy this season.Whichever way you look at it now,it will be another trophyless season and a flop one.

This is a funny old club isn’t it.One week it can give you genuine hope of to conquer that Premier league title. The next it can take away any sort of hope remaining for it.

We went from being top of the table Title challengers to challenging for a top 4 spot now within a space of two games. And that’s what I always maintain – We are never ever favorites for the title even if we lead by 10-15 points because this club has historically bottled it way too much.

I have two main points to make in a mid season conclusion –

1.We have lost all the sort of desire and passion we showed last season. And I’m talking about purely that.Everyone including the players know that there is an expectation to win the title. But we are showing no desire for it.Yes, we won a few late games but that was purely out of luck I would say.
I’m talking about the doing it all it wakes to win the game. There seems to be no appealing from our players, way too soft.I was shocked when fulham players at a first 50/50 challenge started going berzerk at the ref and whole game we looked clueless.
At villa and newcastle,we were way too soft again.Against Newcastle,we should’ve atleast drawn. We had two shouts for a pen turned down.People will say it was 50/50 but I can show you exact instances from this season where they have been awarded.
Just look at city’s shout for a pen against everton. The ref didn’t award at first but got influenced and pointed towards to spot. The replays showed the hand was in a natural position and city were fortuante to recieve the game winning penalty.
Liverpool as well, look at how Van dijk surrounds the ref everytime they hope to win a decision. The JOTA dive was pathetic yesterday as well.
But truth is he knew there was contact and even though he could’ve stayed on his feet he went down. Why didn’t saka do the same at anfield. No I’m not condoning diving but we are never ever going to win the title by being way too honest.

2.ONE STYLE OF PLAYING – We have literally only one style of playing and it’s frustrating me a lot now.Play with two inverted full backs, with saka and martinelli only ones providing width.Slowly build up play, push the ball outwide and cross it into the box without having a proper target man. It’s pathetic really.
If anyone has noticed,City have the exact same style of play and it’s not surprsing considering Pep and Arteta follow the same school of thought.
Howvever, they actually have players to implement it.Most importantly, being Haaland.A proper target man with various other traits to ace that role.
We have no overlapping full backs. We have no target man to switch things up.
The utter Naivety and gross mis management of the squad has cost us the league once again.

Muff – We do.We got decent money from CL group stages.I’ve been reading some reliable sources if we sell eddie for 40-50m we can book it as direct profit as he’s a homegrown player.

Basically,we will have about 150m to spend in Jan.Atleast this is what sources close to club claim.
However,Knowing this club they will yet again neglect and bottle the league.Negligence is way too much.
I told you in order to win a PL title you need a good sync between those off the field and those on the field and we don’t have it.

BTW,How good was Kudus Yesterday. The entire season basically.Or even Moussa diaby. Two players I said were shit and not fit to wear our shirt. My god I know fuck all about soccer. Both could have been very good back up players for us.

What a dissapointing result and will cost us dearly. We can’t be losing these types of games.I know west ham have gotten some impressive results this season but the truth is if anyone were to analyse their performances the whole season they are crap. They sit back when they can do much better than the players they have.

As for us,we have to win these types of games. It takes away the anfield result if we can’t make use of this and they were there for the taking.

Zinchenko and Martinelli were terrible. So was Ben white. Our play is becoming too predictable. We have only one plan – Slowly build up play, push the ball outwide and cross it in.It is bamboozling considering that we don’t have a target man.We desperately need Ivan toney or Victor osimen but until then I can guarantee you we won’t win the title.

We don’t even have overlapping full backs, and this club made a terrible decision letting Tierney leave on loan for nothing.
Martinelli and Saka both don’t have any support whatsoever.Defenders double up on them, hence which makes their jobs much more tough.

I never thought I’ll say this but we actually missed havertz who atleast offers us something different.

We need atleast two re-informcements in jan.A striker and a back up to Saka.Or we’ll always bottle the league.

LMAO,you actually think I was defending Xhaka because he was not playing well.I actually chuckled there for a moment.
I defended him because I actually saw what he had to offer in terms of contribution on the field. He had certain strengths that certain people didn’t get out of him.People laughed that he was captain, yet I defended that saying the players literally “chose” him as captain and ofcourse he was captain of switzerland as well.

All the things I said, got proved under the right manager that is Arteta. He played him to his strenghts, limited his weaknesses and for any person to deny he was not fantastic in his latter years in his Arsenal tenure is in denial.
Now,he is flourishing under Xabi alonso as well. What, are they top of the bundesliga in a league dominated by one club since forever.

Saka was not superb?According to “player ratings” on google he was the highest rated after odegaard apart amongst our front six.
Martinelli was a just a few points lower and that’s only because he lost the ball a couple of times to Konate, but I don’t blame him because he was way too isolated. He was constantly running at players and creating space. And it was him who gave the fantastic ball to Saka was it that kept him through on goal.

Adams – Emmm, what game were you watching mate?Your simple and short analysis is bamboozling for this particular game.

Firstly,we were not getting bombarded.Last season we did get but not this game at anfield. The stats prove it.We had the same amount of shots at goal.We limited them to a lower Xg than 1.00.Now I didn’t even check but I can confidently say that’s amongst the lowest they’ve had at Anfield in the PL in many seasons.Usually they are relentless going at teams.

They gave us respect and that’s a testament to how far we’ve come.

As for Saka and Martinelli, yes they were superb. If you actually understand what their roles actually demand.Their job is to run at defenders, beat them.Pull them out.Make space for others and and boy did they do that well.Yes,martinelli got shurgged off a few times by Konate but that’s because he was isolated. Both their jobs are different as they’re not classic wingers in the system we play they have a lot more to do.He’s performing well and this idea that he’s low on condifence just because he dosen’t have enough goals or assists is ridiculous.

Wow,that was an absolutely brilliant performance by us.And before anyone tries to say we didn’t win,Yes I know that. But sometimes you have to look at the event youre involved in.You ask any team in the world,go to Anfield and take a draw and they’d bite your hand off.I’ve never been there but the amount of intensity amongst the atmoshphere you can feel it even if you’re not present at the ground.

There is a certain sense of maturity from last season in this team.Just have a look at the stats, the result at this fixture is same but the performances were completely different. We got battered last season. This season,it was so so even and any team could’ve snatched it.If anything we were looking slightly more threatening. They had one good chance to take the lead but so did we.

I’ll tell you what,I have no bloody idea why saka didn’t go down on the allison challenge.Way too honest, and no I’m not some sort of preacher here.
The fact is when you go for the title you need to have that dirty streak.99% of players would go down in that situation and it would’ve been a nailed on pen.
Kane, ronaldo etc all would’ve made most of the contact.
I’m really dissapointed on one thing,we should be leading by more points.
We should’ve atleast drawn at newcastle and won at villa if it were not for pathetic PGMOL who has a genuine agenda agaisnt this side.

I think Liverpool gave us too much respect, and that’s a testament to how far we’ve come.Just a few pointers on players

Saliba – Rolls royce,Gabriel – Just as good but dosen’t get the same credit.
Declan rice – A monstro performance but that’s nothing new.Martinelli and saka were both very superb.
But for me my MOTM was odegaard. He was so involved in the game, constantly finding small pockets of space. He’s back to his best and if we’re to go all the way we need that.

Jeff and stev – Save it lads please. No need to fight when our team is doing good.A draw is a very good result here and if you put jeff on a lie detector I’m sure even he would agree. So just enjoy the result.

    I wish you all a Merry X-mas !!!

This is our biggest test of the season, but most importantly that of our title credentials. At this stage of the season nothing is set,we bottled an eight point lead in no time last season.

Personally, for me Even though we have gradually imporved since the start of the season we are still not at the level of city and Liverpool. We might be above them for the moment, but there are certain elements missing in this team.

I feel we need a player like Jurrien timber for this game.
Partey must start alongside rice, but he won’t as he’s not had any game time.
Even at our peak last season,at anfield we got utterly dominated in the second half and should’ve lost if it were not for the brilliant ramsdale.

If we win tommorrow,I’d actually start beleving we have a genuine chance for the title.
Or else it’s just the same old song and dance to give fans false hoped for the season.
I think we’ll get beat, just hope we don’t get embarrassed.

Muff – My ideal striker is Victor Osimen. But knowing this club,we go for Toney. It is very much a possibility. If eddie leaves and we get 40m for him(Any club would get atleast 40-50m for him min),then we should save that and go in for osimen. However,This club will most likely go in for Toney I feel.

Another good striker I admire but there is nothing to suggest he will make us win that PL title.Osimen already has almost single handedly won Napoli the scudetto.

Havertz is turning into the player Arteta envisioned. However,Until this system works against top teams I will not be convinced. And the major test is at Anfield.

We must go all out in Jan,sign two good players atleast,a striker seems top of our radar.

I’ve just seen a compilation of all the decisions that went against us in the Villa game.Wow,absolutely appalling.

How gabriel jesus didn’t get a penalty for the foul by douglas luiz is shocking. He gets none of the ball, and clearly makes contact with the player.Any other game, any other ground and that’s a pen.

Havertz goal should’ve stood.I just cannot fathom why it was disallowed.
The ref’s line of sight was blocked, yet he somehow saw a handball in there where even VAR couldn’t determine it.So it’s obvious, had he not called the foul, var Would have allowed the goal to stand as there is no obvious and clear way to dertermine it touched kai’s hand.It comes of his body onto cash’s hand.It was either a pen or a goal for us.

Nketiah was elbowed with the ref just a few metres away.A direct red should have been given. But NO,VAR didn’t want to interfere.

These were just the obvious decisions. On top of that, every 50/50 was given against the team.

Yes,it was pathetic defending for the goal we conceded but had the refs and VAR been fair we would’ve technically won the game.

I’m not one to beleive in conspiracy theories but this is scandolous.

Jarred gillet, the self admitted “Scouser” fan who failed to submit in his application that he was a fan of anfield only because he wanted to officiate a game there. And now,he’s so obvioulsy denying their potential title rivals a fair and genuine chance.
