As this new Teamtalk format is proving to be so unpopular with West Ham posters, why not try to use this thread for general discussion about any topic you fancy. I think it would help to make it feel a bit more like what it used to on here and hopefully help to attract the old posters back on here. One Mac, Katmad, Harryhammer, Disco, Hattrick, Big Mal, Mick Green, Winto, Jord, ect etc, WHERE ARE YOU?

Thats a good idea Disleksickerik, all this looking down the menus to see the different topics is doing my head in. ONE thread is perfect. I’m interested in what ALL Hammers fans have to say.

I hope the old posters come back too, although I’m not optimistic. Teamtalk took so long to get yoursay back and its so clumsy and unwieldly that we may have lost them for ever.

I agree as well. Didn’t post too often myself but read every day. A great way to keep up with things. Now I may check it out once a week or so. Hope all the people you have listed and all the others return asap. Especially Harryhammer whose away game match reports were great to read.

I notice that the Liverpool page on here appears to be very popular now with almost 2500 posts so far, whereas West Ham has the grand total of 47! And most of them are moans and groans. It begs the question; why is there such a huge difference in the way two sets of fans have reacted to this new site format? The way things are at present this West Ham page is as good as dead and I think that is a real shame. It is time to get posting lads, and add a bit of colour to our own page.

It’s a bit ghostly on here! I think a general thread is probably the only way to attract back the old posters. I had a beer with HarryHammer before the Watford game. He was in top form and had us all laughing. His view is that Teamtalk have shot themselves in the foot with the changes and misses the banter especially with Katmad. Maybe Teamtalk could email the old posters and encourage them to post on a general thread as suggested by Disleksickerik (great idea by the way). l would be up for that and I am sure the old posters still have a sneaky look to see what’s happening on Teamtalk. The old format obviously appealed more to West Ham fans and a general thread might just entice them back. Here’s hoping Teamtalk are listening.

Good to see an old name back Big Mal. I live in Watford and couldn’t get a ticket but it would have been nice to put faces to names in the pub or something. This format is pants but Disleksickerik’s idea of a general thread is very workable. Come on guys start posting again.

Stevel, I might see Harry at the Spuds on Sunday. If so I will twist his arm to sign up again. I know a couple of other past posters but they were talking about moving to westhamtillidie. If we can get this general thread working I think others would return too. Teamtalk hold the trump card because they have the email addresses and could make this work. Teamtalk have invested big bucks into trying to develop Yoursay but sometimes you just have to hold your hand up and accept it was a mistake. Making it simple and easy to participate seems to work best. As for the Spuds on Sunday it’s going to be interesting to see how Slav approaches the game. I would like to see Ogbonna and Song start if both are match fit. Ogbonna is more likely to do a job on Kane and a fit Song is a step up on any of our other options. Antonio may get some game time too. Forest fans can’t believe he us not playing but it’s fantastic that we finally have quality options in the squad. He needs to take his chance when Slav decides the time Is right for him.

My best mates a spuds fan, bless him and after the stick I’ve taken when we got beat by Watford I’m not sure I can take much more if the spuds do us as well.

Welcome back Big Mal! If anyone can help to convince all the old posters to return it’s the big feller. His words of wisdom have always been a pleasure to read. – Mal, if you do manage to see Harry on Sunday do try and convince him to start posting on here. If he does it could open the floodgates. Katmad is bound to follow and then One Mac, then Ironic, then Hattrick, then Winto, and then before you know it everyone else. Even Disco could be back pontificating about the importance of harmonics using duelling banjos, coconuts and cheesy balls in a football sense. God help us. Enjoy the game on Sunday.

Check this site out maybe once every week or two, used to be daily. They really did ruin it.
Also very annoyed by the pathetic James McCarthy who has possibly ruined our season. A very average player who was completely outclassed by Payet so deliberately takes him out from behind. What do the refs / FA do? Absolutely nothing. Leaves me pretty disillusioned with the whole game. Ok, refs / association could not stop it happening but they basically condoned it

Stevel, Skinner, Hattrickhurst and Bilic’s revolution. It is good that you are all posting on here. The only way to kick-start this page properly is to keep on posting to increase its momentum. It was really encouraging that Big Mal popped in yesterday and I’m sure that most of the old posters out there are, or soon will be, aware of it. Hopefully they will all trickle back and make this page something closer to what it was.
I have another suggestion: I think that having the most recent posts at the top of this page instead of the bottom would be a significant improvement and would make it similar to the old site. Let me know if you agree or have any other suggestions. Together we can make this site work!
Enjoy the game tomorrow and keep posting,
    Erik.

Skinner, good to see another name back. In total agreement re the Payet/McCarthy incident. When you look back and see the punishment Carroll got for flicking the pony tail of Flores and the lack of an appropriate punishment for McCarthy from the referee, it is disgraceful. Erik – not sure that I would like the posts reversed as I quite like the way it is. Big Mal – I’ve looked at westhamtillidie and although it is a good site for info it doesn’t have the same forumlike feel to it. Thanks to Eriks’ idea I feel that this site is going to get back to the old ways and I look forward to the old names re-appearing.

Gusformanager. Thanks for posting and congratulations on a well deserved result today. Your team played a really good game today and we were just not at the races. That’s how it goes. I look forward to the rematch and welcoming Spurs to Upton Park for the last time later in the season before we move on to our new pristine state-of-the-art stadium at Stratford which offers the best facilities and travel links in the country. We will be pleased to welcome Spurs fans there for a good day out and a little respite from what you are used to. I’m not sure what new stadium that shady little shyster Mr Levy is conjuring up for you, but even if it is fit for purpose, one thing is sure: It will still be a bloody nightmare to get to, and from. Regards to Cypriotyid, and all the other Spurs fans who for some mysterious reason love to pop in here for a bit of friendly banter. Weird I know, but they are always most welcome. Cheers.

Losing Payet certainly contributed to our poor performance today however their first goal was lucky and had Kouyate equalised with his overhead kick it could have been a different game. I am not sure who was at fault for the second goal but Tompkins gifted them the third goal. Should Ogbonna have started? Ogbonna and Reid look our strongest centre back pairing to me. Noble is now suspended for the Baggies and that now gives Song the chance to start which should makes us more effective. Carroll simply does not have the pace to justify a starting role and his presence dictates the way we play and almost renders Sakho ineffective. It’s a problem for Slav but he going to have to confront it. I am sure Allardyce will want Carroll for his ‘hoof it to safety campaign’ at Sunderland and I would not be surprised to see him leave in January. Rumour has it that O’Brien and Ginge are heading to Sunderland too. That would free up the money to hopefully bring in a new face or two. Its never nice to lose to the Spuds but like us Slav will be hurting tonight and I expect to see 2/3 changes for WBA. I had a chat to Harry before the game. He is working away in Scotland this week but said he will start posting again after next weekend.

Big Mal’s assessment of yesterdays disappointing showing was spot on. It is so obvious that Payet will be sorely missed in the coming months, and using Carroll up front from the start will quickly prove to be the wrong tactic. It will only end up stifling and frustrating Sakho and we can ill afford that. Bilic has got his work cut out this week to get the players to regroup into a cohesive and effective unit. Let’s hope he can do it.
It’s great news that Harryhammer will soon be back on here. What do you think Katmad? Isn’t it high time we resurrected our page back into something like it once was? Let’s be perfectly honest, there is no better site out there that this. With just a little effort from all of us I’m sure we can make this page enjoyable again. So Whufcfan, Claretludo, Boleyn_Dave, Sussexiron, Wotsappnin, etc etc etc…… Get posting!

Tortured myself and watched the game again this morning and it does not get any better! The Andy Carroll debate will no doubt keep most West Ham forums busy this week but our inconsistent defensive displays have to a degree been covered up by our away results. We are there for the taking if you attack us with pace through the middle. Neither Reid or Tomkins will ever win a sprint. Cresswell is great going forward but still needs to improve his defending. Jenkinson looks half the player he was last season and I can’t see us ever paying the fee to make his signing permanent. I can see Slav bringing in a right back as soon as January. I am hoping Song can show his best form and shelter the back four against The Baggies. Surely Ogbonna will be reinstated too. Had we not made even half of the defensive howlers so far this season we would be sitting in the top four. With a draw and two defeats in our last three games and with Payet’s long term injury this is now a big test for Slav. it’s starting to mirror image last season when following the return of Carroll it led to a decline in form and results. We all know he can be a very effective impact substitution but starting him seems to have the opposite effect. I admire his work rate and heading abilities but it’s not enough to justify changing the style that has brought us positive results. Personally If Sunderland are prepared to stump up 10m I would take it.

so Bigmal, you feel the’overhead kick, when he was,3 yards offside, was the, difference between the teams, how, delusional. you create nothing till the last minute ,and just 4 goals was the best result, with’all the chances we had it made you look better, than you actually were, if it had finished 7-1 that would have been more of a,reflecting on the game

Wotspur. I think that we can all agree that we were poor and Spurs played very well and deserved to win but you have missed the point. Big Mal’s assessment is quite valid and not at all delusional. To be frank, your first goal was a tad lucky and had Kouyate equalised with his overhead kick it could indeed have been a different game. The linesman’s flag stayed down and if the ball had gone in it would have counted, and who knows what would have happened then. It’s foolish to delude yourself into thinking otherwise. Just enjoy your day in the sun and let us look forward to our last match together at Upton Park before we move onwards and upwards into our new state-of-the-art world class stadium. Cheers.
