If he played for Watford, Sunderland or the like, the review panel would be giving him a 3 match ban for that. Anyone think they will do anything ? No, like they don’t with Costa, and all the big club players, because they’re bent.

Maybe he won’t get a ban because the replays show there wasn’t any contact. Nothing to do with who he plays for

Are you sure there was no contact? Reid had to be substituted.

He’ll have to get a ban for the FA to have any credibility in dealing with similar situations going forward. It usually takes a day or two for players to be charged.

Can’t beleive some say there was no contact.

There was contact. Looked like fist to neck was the contact point.

This confirms contact being made; he knew exactly what he was doing:

Aguero to be fair is 5″7 and knows it be difficult to win the ball in the air; don’t normally see this from him as he’s a top top player and a top guy.

He’ll have to be punished for this though.

Unfortunately I can’t share the video that’s floating around on Facebook, but you can see that he doesn’t catch him and the ref even looks right at the incident from just a few yards away. Would be hard for a panel to say that they know more from what they think they’ve seen on a screen than their own referee who witnessed the incident. Not sure why Reid went off

Another clip; he’s in a bit of a tussle with Reid and trying to shake him off, but in slight frustration, uses his elbow.

For what it’s worth, it’d a huge shame if he’s punished and has to miss the huge Derby clash in 2 weeks time.

Why would it be a shame if he is banned? If you throw your elbow at your opponent you deserve a ban.

There clearly was contact with Reid’s head. The fact that it wasn’t quite as hard a blow as he was attempting does not in any way excuse him. Just means he’s a short-ass and didn’t quite reach.

Anyway, they won’t miss him if he does get banned for the Utd game because he never does much against the other big sides anyway.

Whether there is contact or not is immaterial, the rules are clear on that. The fact is he threw an elbow out with the intent of making contact. It is violent conduct and is punishable with a ban. The FA will face backlash if they fail to take action.

Aguero deserved a red card and a 3-match ban however I don’t think he’ll get it – can’t see the FA banning him from playing in the (so far) biggest game of the season on 10th September. Comment will probably come out that the ref saw it and decided it was unintentional.

@sympathy. If Aguero escapes action as you mention, the FA will face backlash either way. Mourinho will have a lot to say about it if Aguero is cleared for the Manchester derby.

he has to be banned but the fa have let stuff like this slide before.

if the ref saw it and didnt think it was a foul, can the fa still charge him?

its a clear swipe and he should have been sent off

Aguero might well escape any action if Andre Mariner confirms he saw the incident (and he seemingly had a great view of it) and at the time didn’t think that it was violent conduct as the FA are loathe to re Ref decisions by Referees made on the pitch that they confirm they saw and didn’t deem any action needed to be taken.

If Mariner says he didn’t see the incident then Aguero will be charged and banned for sure, as hatters says you can only imagine the reaction from Jose if Aguero gets away with it.

Agueros’s fate lies in Mariners hands and you would expect a violent conduct charge if it’s coming to be announced by tonight or tomorrow latest.

Mourinho talking about another clubs player? After he whined about Wenger and Klopp talking about Pogba? Surely not lol

Throw the book at him… lets sink another Belgrano… lynch him and Diego Costa up on the hangmans tree in Windosr Park… Tyrants ruining our beloved game… But on a more serious note… Litigation has now crept into the lower leagues… http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-manchester-34409824
