It’s clear he’ll be joining either of the manchester clubs this transfer window.i’ll tell you what, whichever club he joins their chances of winning the PL next season have been increased by 50%.

As an Arsenal fan,I’ve watched him and analysed this player very carefully, and on pure individual basis for me he’s been the best player in the PL for the past couple of seasons and amongst the top 5-7 in the world.A lot of fans rate him,so he’s definitely not underrated.but what he is underappreciated. He’s a phenomenal player, his desire his attitude his commitment his skill. He’s a breed of messi and ronaldo.I’d compare him more to roanldo, but his passing is what makes him so good.that direct final ball.he never hides, and always tries the risky pass.I’d honestly put him alongside the arsenal greats like henry, viera, bergkamp.i mean he dosen’t have to win the PL to prove to be in their category because even if we had messi we couldn’t win it.

A little bit of appreciation post for him.i’ll never hate him no matter who he joins and it was an honour to watch him play and i say this above very few people.thanks alexis.A truly extraordinary player.

Nice post TSO. It’s cool to read plaudits rather than bitterness in such a situation, when as a Gooner you must be disappointed to see him go.

350,000 per week and Sanchez can not resist.

Seems to me it’s a choice for Sanchez between money and a Prem winners medal. If he joins City he’s all but guaranteed Prem honours, such is City’s superiority this season. However, if he goes to Utd both he and Arsenal get paid far more, reportedly.

Amazingly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is apparently reluctant to go to Arsenal as part of the deal! 🙂

Ash, I’ve never been a fan of players involved in a part exchange deal, so to speak. For me, they are only going as part of the deal and not because they want to. If Mkhitarayan is not keen on going but ends up going anyway, how interested is he going to be?

Yeah I see what you’re saying Devon. It would have to be something the ‘part-ex’ player is sold on. I guess one positive for Mkhitaryan is that he’d likely be playing far more regularly at Arsenal.

Ash – he’s irreplaceable mate.i also forgot to mention his leadership qualities, time and again when our players use to give pathetic wayward passes,he just use to look at them and applaud their effort when deep down he must’ve been thinking “how garbage is this team”.Always tried to motivate players.his desire,i have no words everytime he lost the ball he’d behave like someone snatched his copa america medal away from him and let’s be honest he did lose the ball a lot but that’s natural because you’re not trying to hide and actually trying to do something your teammates aren’t.

Anyways, will really miss this guy.Don’t think we’ll see a player as good as him at the club again the direction in which we’re headed under this board and manager.

Sanchez is what, 29 coming 30? Isn’t it great to see José giving young players their chance at last. He’s always loved finding young talent and bringing it through. Rashford and Lindgaard must be delighted.

City pulled out due to Sanchez excessive wage demands apparently. If so, very happy to hear this, even if it results in him replacing Luke Shaw over in Salford. Interesting to see the reletive positioning of the clubs now, come to City for career progression and job satisfaction, or go to united because they will pay whatever is needed…

I’m not sure you can claim career progression and job satisfaction tbh HK!

Due to City’s superiority this season you can offer a Prem medal, although I’m not sure how satisfying it is to join a team that have already got the job done pretty much. Only Sanchez can really answer that one, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t post here 🙂

United have always paid whatever is needed. That’s what underpinned SAF’s success.

The difference in the present is that United have more competition financially than they did once upon a time, although as the richest sports club on the planet they can still price everyone else out if they wish to.

@shanksy. If Sanchez comes in it will be at the expense of Mkhitaryan. 28 year old for a far superior 29 year old. And let’s be honest, the United attack doesn’t have the same quality of the Liverpool or City attacking lineups – Sanchez will add the extra bite in the final third that Lukaku clearly cannot provide.

If played through the middle we can have an attacking lineup of Martial, Sanchez, and Lingard supporting Lukaku with Mata and Rashford to provide bite from the bench. As for your Mourinho stifling Martial, Lingard, and Rashford comment, that simply isn’t true – especially in the case of Martial who has been brilliant all season, not to mention the vast improvement in Lingard this season. Sometimes you should just step back from your bias and look at the facts in front of you.

Sanchez will only end up at Oldtrafford, but i think the offer is what may persuade him not the project. he will be insane not to take £400k P/W as wages, £20m signing fee on top of that, and £10m for his agent. he will never have a better offer than that. but you can’t rule out everything is possible. he snubbed Liverpool who offered him more money than Arsenal in 2014.

I’m all for not selling to any of the “potential rivals”,the fact that we are doing it all but ends our ambition to win the pl.Saying that, and srictly in terms of the deal we seem to be pushing for.i’m interested to see what kind of a deal we’re getting here.

Man utd signed mikhi for 25m,he’s on 200k a week wages?his career has only gone backwards since he’s joined them,he’s a player who hardly ever plays for them,so much so that sometimes he isn’t even in the squad.Clearly more than anything i feel mourinho wants to get rid of his wages.his market value couldn’t possibly be more than what they bought him for.Truth is chelsea are in the running now as well(and maybe even liverpool)cheslsea want to get back at them for stealing lukaku under their noses and increasing moratas price as well.so Arsenal football club in this instance should be making the most out of the situation.it was 35m,now it should be 45m.this is one of the best players in the world we’re letting go of and that to our potential rival.

25m+Mikhi would be acceptable.any top negotiator would be able to get atleast that much.I know alexis has only half a season remaining on his contract, but see that’s the reason that makes these clubs so desperate.should by a miracle he stay at arsenal,he’d most likely join city at the end of the season. And the rest of the pl knows if that happens then there’s zero chance of them challening next season as well.

His wage demands are so high(deservedly so),which is why no foreign club is in for him.I think he’d be perfect for juventus though.

Given how Mkhitariyan’s career has gone at United. and the expectations was that he will hit the ground running, but for unknown reasons he hasn’t. i would say a move to Arsenal could be good for his career. and if i was him i would be jumping to that opportunity.

I’d take Alexis in the morning, outstanding player with outstanding attitude. He’d make any squad better, even Man City’s.
I can see why Mkhitariyan should go to Arsenal but I can also understand why he wouldn’t want to go. Arsenal are on a hiding to nothing, squad is becoming slimmer and slimmer and no obvious improvement being made. If Malcom and Evans were to join then he might consider it but if I was him, I wouldn’t be overly happy about the prospect of going to Arsenal from Utd. Once upon a time it was a step across but now it’s a step down, and Utd’s squad isn’t exactly great either.

Mate, although i would agree Arsenal isn’t exactly that attractive a destination for top players right now,in mkhitariyan’s case he really dosen’t have much of a choice. He hardly gets game time there and he needs regular game time somewhere else.

Trust me when i say this, right now that transfer is on hold because of one reason,we’re unwilling to pay his wage demands. It had nothing to do with miki wanting/not wanting to play.Where his career is now,he dosen’t have that much of a choice.Listen he’s a quality player, but 200K is utterly ridiculous for him I feel.
He knows he has to take a pay cut,and i’d be surprised if we paid him even 150k.He has to prove himself again, and I wouldn’t mind starting him off with 100k and bonuses per contribution.

tso, very few players will move on for 50% of what they are earning.

If Mikiteryan drops £100k pw on a contract that runs to 2020 he will give away over £10m which seems unlikely to me especially given all the questions that surround Wenger and Arsenal.

Mkhitariyan doesn’t have to move, he’s on a cracking contract at Utd, he’s always going to get his game for Armenia and they’re not likely to qualify for a World Cup or anything any time soon, so what does he have to lose apart from money? He could dig his feet in and do a Winston Bogarde on it. Play rarely, show up for training and pick up a massive pay cheque.

Arsenal will have to sweeten the deal, Ozil is likely off, especially if Sanchez goes so Arsenal will need a creative player like Miki, one who excels at playing through the middle even though he doesn’t often get to do it at Utd.
