This situation can be summed up with the phrase “idiotic naivety”. He has been coerced into splurging information that, I’d put my hat on it, most top managers know. They’re just more careful about this information, plus they don’t sell that information for a premium.

The guy is a complete fool and suffered the correct consequences for his actions. Although, he isn’t wrong about Gary, “Woy” or the FA but you never bite the hand that feeds.

As the day has gone on its looked more and more likely that he’s gonna be gone. He’s an idiot, risking a job he’s always dreamed of by attending a meeting like that? It will haunt him for the rest of his life. This is the worst case of getting fingered by the media I’ve ever seen though.

Seems he was taking kick backs on transfer dealings as well. 5% of the agent fee.

Having had first hand experience of the FA’s regional representatives I can say that the stereotype of them being a bunch of ancient, out of touch old gits wearing emblemed blazers is true.

Make no mistake, these old boys actually think they know far better than the rest of us! They hire the odd few younger men in order to present a veneer of moderninity but the wizened power brokers remain.

Seems to me that as long as the current regime still controls who is England manager we are always more likely than not to end up with someone in their own image, ie someone older who is perceived to have ‘done their time and earned their crack’ rather than someone younger and more dynamic.

I did back Eddie Howe before Fat Sam was appointed, my only fear is the job could ruin him. I don’t think it would as other managers have bounced back from England failure, )well got decent jobs after). If it is not Howe I can’t see any other English alternatives, the only other way is going foreign, yes we have tried that in the past, but never with a foreign manager that has worked in this country and knows the players, also we have tried going with the best English candidate how many times? I wouldn’t mind giving Potch a go, I know many Spurs fans won’t like this but I think he is a very good manager.

Just on Fat Sam, no sympathy, he is a greedy idiot who abused his position.

@suarezsteeth. I agree with your thoughts completely mate. Fat Sam is an embarrassment to himself and his country. To have such a huge appetite for “more” to the point where your greed drives you instead of your noggin is a sad state of affairs.

Clearly Big Fat Sam doesn’t have enough brains to have a headache.

England need a manager who knows how to play attacking football. I’m not English so I don’t really care but most of you guys are, so I’m more than happy to give my opinion on the matter.

As for Fat Sam, he’s always come across as the ‘thick chancer’ type football manager. I don’t think that the stuff he’s likely been getting up to is just generally done. I bet Rafa, Klopp, Mourinho, Wenger’s names will never appear on a list like that. They very obviously love the game first and they won;t be the only ones, just a few names. . but the likes of ‘Arry, Sam and obviously some others, they are in it to get what they can get out of it. Football could do without these types.

Sean – There is no reason to feel sorry for him, if he was honest than the set up doesn’t work.

It’s difficult to have any sympathy for the smug fat bastard but it is a sad state of affairs. As per usual it is the supporters that suffer due to the actions of greedy, selfish, unaccountable people.
I don’t take international football seriously anymore. There is far more entertainment off the field anyway, like a long running sitcom.
I’ve heard next week that Rooney becomes manager but Southgate gets jealous and spikes Rooney’s water with laxatives at his first press conference with hilarious consequences.

Greg Dyke was quoted on SSN’s today saying that there were certain Managers considered to be of a dubious nature that the FA would not have considered as an England Manager, which given the past allegations against Allardyce you wonder why the FA did approach him when there were a number of skeletons in his cupboard and as Dyke rightly said an England Manager has to be whiter than white.

Reading between the lines I suspect had Dyke stayed on at the FA he wouldn’t have appointed Allardyce.

So here we are again, England managerless. I guess, this is the tip of another Iceberg the FA are keen to sail around and not clean up. If there are other managers who are caught up in this practice then perhaps they need to be banned. How much of this backhanded dealing is going on? Is it a reason why English Talent is often priced out of the market, is this a reason why English clubs pay through the nose for overseas talent? How might banning managers caught up in this affect the EPL brand? I think the sting cleans up the game, great, I welcome it especially as the FA made many accusations against FIFA and UEFA. I fear that more is to come and perhaps it needs to be brough out into the open because it is us fans who pay for the increased ticket prices… Time to get it all out in the open and clean up the FA while there.
