Dele Alli and Wayne Rooney scored as England beat France 2-0 on a night that Wembley remembered the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks.

The record books will show that it was as 2 nil win for England but how very difficult it must have been for the French players to go out and play that game tonight.

Two lovely goals by England though inc a stonking first goal by Deli Ali.

Think Hugo Lloris summed up France’s performance very well. I don’t think anyone could have expected the French to be 100% focussed on the Game given the events of Friday. In saying that England did perform very well themselves.

Echo my thoughts posted on the match thread – proud of both nations and football in general, tonight.

Alli did well. And for the life of me I dont understand why England dont hurry on the likes of Carrick, Cahill, Milner and even Rooney.

England have some really good young players and they need to be given their chance.

Stones, Chamberlain, Walcott, Welbeck, Sterling, Alli, Wilshere, Shaw, Stones, Kane, Sturridge, Rose. These are the players who should be playing for England.

Given the pace of Chamberlain, Walcott, Sterling, Sturridge, and Kane ability as a number 9, I have no idea what the game plan is with Rooney leading the line. You could use the pace, and have Harry Kane playing off the last man, yet Rooney is preferred, and for what?

This is English football letting itself down again. Showing no initiative or a desire to get ahead of the game. The great teams like Spain and Germany revamped their teams and playing system and stole a march on the competition.

This is England’s major problem, they possess no ambition to rip up the playbook as they know it, nor the intellect to implement a brand of football that give them an edge. Such as Spain with their tika taka, and Germany with their direct and robust brand of football.

England well, the game plan is simple…………Rooney.

Your Rooney bias is silly Syd. Say what you want about his club form but Rooney has scored in all 6 of the last 6 England games he has played in – he also assisted Alli last night.

There is loads of space in that England side for Rooney. Just forget that he plays for Manchester United for once and think objectively.

Why are you mentioning Welbeck, Sturridge, Walcott, and Shaw when they are all injured??

Rooney has the most caps and the most goals for Roy’s selection. His dressing room influence cannot be underestimated. He actually is the only proven winner in that squad besides Joe Hart and Gary Cahill at the minute.

Young players must be blooded in but they also need to be cushioned with proper experience.

All this “pace” you are talking about has no use if players don’t know how to actually play football at the highest level. Chamberlain is a headless chicken by the way.

Dele Alli has everything to be a top player, Jack ( any excuse to fall over) Wilshere, wont get any where near the England team…

The,best, thing about Allis goal, was the tackle, strong hard, fair and came away with the ball, laid it off and demanded it back and bang, into the onion bag. As for Jack Wheelchair, if he can’t string 10 games playing, mthe shouldn’t be anywhere near the squad, Mason could easily replace him, his accuracy is better than JW, and dominated the Derby games last season at WHL

Feeling the rivalry but putting that to one side dont think either Mason or Ali are quite there yet, also no as good as Wilshere when fit, buts as you say when is he ever fit?!

I agree he shouldnt be near the England team while we have capable replacements until he can stay injury free for a good while and his form deserves a call up

if Ali continues as is though he will be a beats of a player right enough but as soon as that happens he will end up at united or city along with Kane

I would caution suggesting Alli is better than Wilshere. It reminds of a few years ago when Andros Townsend was better than Theo Walcott.

I really do think Alli is going to turn into a beast of a player. I just wonder how long we can keep hold of him… or maybe he’ll start a huge bromance with Dier (another beast of a player) and that’ll be our midfield sorted for another 10 years.

I wonder is Bale is watching…
