Another new signing has arrived at Elland Road – the first 4.5 million pound man, we’re told, since the free spending daze (pun intended!) of Ridsdale and O’Leary: Batty, Wilcox, Duberry, Mills, Fowler…

Whilst some are singing the young man, Foreshaw’s, praises (winning promotions and playing in the premiership) others are questioning his limited game time in the first team at the Boro. O’Kane, when he arrived, “boasted” similar credentials but has hardly impressed (in my view, at least). In the spirit of fairness, we shall not pass judgement on this youngster until we have had adequate time to evaluate his performance. He will not be making his debut tomorrow because there are “some small problems”.

In the meantime we welcome Millwall (with painful memories). They haven’t won on the road this season, I believe. What better time for them to meet the might Leeds United – notorious for helping to end teams’ unwanted records (recall. most recently Birmingham).
With a side limited in midfield and attacking options, I see us struggling. Another dour, sterile performance looks likely unless Hernadez and Roofe can sparkle. I simply DO NOT have faith in Phillips, Alioski, Hamburger, Grot, Cibicki, Sacko… TC should consider something new: like playing Anita in the role of anchor man (he’s been there many time before) and giving Klich the shout ahead of the ineffectual Phillips. With Vieira returning to duty, a midfield together with Anita and Klich seems a better option than the Phillips-O’Kane axis. We shall wait and see. But, then, TC is not an imaginative man or a creative thinker. He’s one dimensional and, at times, multi-delusional.

It a home debut for De Bock. He will, of course receive the traditional Yorkshire welcome (as a certain Grot, Lassoga and others did not so long ago) and we wish him well. I’m settling down to a good book and a glass o ‘sum whilst keeping an eye on the Derby-Bristol game.

    Cheers until next time.
