I wonder whether Jurgen could do anything with Balotelli? He is effective when played with a strike partner, but his work-rate without the ball would probably not be good enough. It would be intriguing to see whether the normal one could get the best from the enigmatic one though ynwa 🙂

Would rather we recalled Markovich than that waste of space Mario.

Markovic would probably be a better shout, but I don’t think it still fills the gap of a recognized striker.

Sterling last season was used whilst Sturridge was out.

I wonder if klopp has Samed Yesil in his mind.

Klopp clearly said this, “When I thought about coming to Liverpool, I thought, ‘Four strikers, this quality, cool.’ Now I have one. Balotelli should be smart enough to catch what Klopp was trying to say to him.

Spodge would be more use up front than Balotelli.

Sturridge’s injury isn’t that serious, according to Klopp. Thankfully
Benteke will be back in time for the home game against Southampton next Sunday. Forget about Balotelli, Klopp has said he wanted Origi when he was managing Dortmund. This kid is only 20 and had only played 17 mins of EPL prior to the Spurs game. I will be watching this kid’s development closely.

Perhaps, Balotelli was alienated by Rodgers at the club, sure he got his antics but he offers a goal threat unlike Origi.
Is a set piece specialist and we have none at the club, that alone is worth 10 points over the season.

Balotelli can’t play up top on his own. We’ve seen that with our own eyes so will not work in a 4-2-3-1. The lad has been given loads of chances by some of the biggest clubs in world football and by some top notch managers. It’s no coincidence that they all look to move him on.

@gingerlfc I wanted Balotelli bought but not as a first striker, not even as a second striker.

I thought he would come good as a 3rd striker, somebody that could give us a different option. Perhaps score 10 goals over a season.

In fairness to Balotelli, there hasnt been a striker at Liverpool that has managed to play as a lone striker since Torres.
Sturridge and Suarez had each other making chances for each other, the one game we saw Balotelli play with another striker was against Spurs last season and that was one of our best games of the season.
He is scoring again for Milan, I think his poor form was down on Rodgers who mismanaged him.

Balotelli has scored one goal since he’s went back to Milan.
It’s looking like we are gonna play 4-2-3-1. He doesn’t suit that system and we’re not gonna change the whole way we play to suit an average striker.
Can you honestly see Balotelli playing Klopps brand of football with constant pressing and work rate etc??
He’s gone and I’m glad. Should never have been bought in the first place. If we’d spent that little extra that summer and bought Bony we’d have finished top 4. These types of mistakes come back to haunt us time and again. Let’s not go back to them.

    one goal in three games.

The way I see it is that Rodgers mismanaged too many players, he just didnt let them play or put them down.

Most of us have seen the stories going around Sterling today, that he would have loved to play under Klopp at Liverpool, which suggest that Sterling and Rodgers didnt really see eye to eye on a number of things. My bet is that the same happened with Balotelli and other players that have had limited game time.

The Italian league is 8 games into their season plus they’ve played some cup games, yet Balotelli has only featured in 3 games, and he hasn’t played the full 90mins in all of them.

We have no need for Balotelli back at Liverpool.

Balotelli doesn’t deserve the honour of ever wearing the Liverpool shirt ever again.

Currently we have one striker available, who is not cutting it. So there is plenty need for Balotelli at Anfield.

Sturridge and Benteke will be fit by the weekend, possibly even Thursday.
There is definitely no need for Balotelli at Liverpool.

Ill believe Sturridge is fit when he has played 10 games, I actually doubt that he will make 10 games over the whole season and Benteke has not the best injury record either. Right now there is a big gap in the squad and nobody to fill it. I like Ings but he is injured and he might have problems for the rest of the season because of that injury.
