my quote of form is temporary class is permanent did not include the word world and I have never considered Willian world class nor do I believe anyone else has. He is a good solid player with some class which I believe will resurface in time. I do note that bluepylon asked whether I suggested Willian was class or world class – clearly there is a difference and I said class. There indeed is a huge difference.
October 6, 2017 at 1:05 pm #15417021967, I certainly wouldn’t rule out Willian coming back to form and an in form Willian is a valuable asset to the team and to Conte. Time will be his judge.

There are not many world class players in the PL. only a handful of them are in the league. Hazard, Aguero, Sanchez and Kane. i won’t deceive myself to label Willian as world class. but when he is in his game not many defenders can withstand with his movement and dribbling skills. until the death of his mother, Willian has been a first choice for us. but once that tragedy happened, and Pedro grabbed the opportunity with his hands, i could understand why Conte was reluctant bring back Willian and disrupt a winning team. but still he has double figures in goals. the bottom line is that Willian isn’t as bad as some posters are making. we can’t deny his past achievement with Chelsea.
October 6, 2017 at 2:25 pm #1541742Perhaps Willian needs some form of help or counselling to help regain form. There is a modern day equivalent in another Brazillian who went through the same and worse in Adriano. Perhaps the club could learn from it if theyre not already working with the player?
October 6, 2017 at 2:32 pm #1541744C’man, I’m not sure about bestowing world class on players I think world class gets thrown around far to easily and to be truly world a class you have to do it regularly in the CL too those you list are all fantastic players and if not world class are close to being world class but Ronaldo and Messi in their pomp were truly world class imo but that’s another discussion.😊
Whatever we all might say about Willian for or against or indeed any other Chelsea player for that matter they’re merely just our personal opinions with Conte’s opinion the only one that counts. Cheers 999
October 6, 2017 at 3:19 pm #1541758There are probably only 20-30 truly world class players across all positions at any time.
October 6, 2017 at 6:52 pm #1541796bort, personally I would struggle to name 20/30 true world class players in fact I would struggle to name name half a dozen truly world class players.
October 6, 2017 at 6:59 pm #1541797The Fifa Best Men’s Player 2017 shortlist
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Leonardo Bonucci, Gianluigi Buffon, Dani Carvajal, Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, Antoine Griezmann, Eden Hazard, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andres Iniesta, Harry Kane, N’Golo Kante, Toni Kroos, Robert Lewandowski, Marcelo, Lionel Messi, Luka Modric, Keylor Navas, Manuel Neuer, Neymar, Alexis Sanchez, Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal.
Some great players but are the all world class?
October 6, 2017 at 8:14 pm #1541811They aren’t nine. I’d say 10-11 players max.
October 6, 2017 at 8:21 pm #1541812Stuilse, it’s all personal opinions mate but I would say only the following qualify as currently world class some were world class previously and some may become world class a sector that I would include Hazard in.
Leonardo Bonucci,Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Manuel Neuer, Neymar, Luis Suarez.
Just my opinion though mate. Cheers 999

Most of those players are world class IMO. Most of those players have been performing in the Champions league. But their clubs do not enjoy the prestidge that Barca and Real enjoy. Ronaldo and Messi are good players. But still they play with some of the best talents in the world. That is why their clubs always sign players who are on the brink of world class status in the game. Which gives them extra competitive advantage. For instance, Messi has got Iniesta and co to support him plus Suarez which may take some pressure of him. Likewise Ronaldo also enjoys that. But Hazard and co don’t get that.
October 6, 2017 at 10:36 pm #1541831Cman, there’s a difference to playing in the CL and consistently starring in the CL few in that list have done that albeit they’re all great players but as I said mate it’s all about opinions.😊 Cheers 999
October 7, 2017 at 8:22 am #1541856The one standout and who is the PL and cos he is available is alexis Sanchez, he would make a massive difference to our starting 11, sorry to say it but way better than Pedro and Willian, would luv the club to get him in January.
Him hazard and morata, the would be pretty awesome and would have us challenging in the CL, because as it currently stands we won’t get beyond the quarters.October 7, 2017 at 3:15 pm #1541999Pylon, I agree with you on Sanchez, problem is he wants £300k pw which might upset other players and he would probably prefer a move to PSG or going to play for his former Boss Pep?
