Let me start by saying that I don’t often post in here, but I come here and read the threads almost everyday. The reason why is that we have some excellent posters on this site, both those who follow Chelsea and also many others that are fans of different clubs.
Anyway, in continuation of the latest heated discussion among us Chelsea fans I think we all can make a concerted effort to prevent it from happen. What I’ve noticed is that some posters use very hard words/phrases such as “if you say this or that, or don’t agree etc .. you know nothing about football”… arhhh come on just because someone doesn’t agree with you is not necessarily equal to he- or she does not posses any football knowledge, it’s quite a bold statement and I agree with the moderator that we have to maintain a civil tone so everyone feel they can post their thoughts without getting battered by other posters. With all that being said I would like to mention as well that unfortunately I’ve also noticed that some posters in here get away with thongs that others don’t for instance, insulting others and that’s not fair! The common set of ‘rules’ to uphold a nice civil tone in here should apply to all of us even if the perpetrator has an outstanding reputation as a poster or has a closer relation to our moderator. Please don’t get me wrong 999 I think you are a decent gentleman always greeting new posters on the Chelsea site and may I add one of the finest and moderate poster on Teamtalk. I’m not sure you are aware of it but sometimes I have noticed that you do let your guards down and often when the aforementioned perpetrator utter something that can be perceived as an insult to some. It might just be a coincidence or maybe you haven’t noticed it, which is why I mention it for you. I’m pretty sure though you’ll take care of it in the future now that I’ve made you aware of it, as your moderator skills usually are topnotch ??
I hope I haven’t made things worse with this post, but it really saddened med that we were having a heated discussion among us Chelsea fans a couple of days after we became league champions. And I just wanted to point out how I felt we all might could get a long – with mutual respect. Without sounding too much like a peace loving hippie!
    Cheers lads!
    KTBFFH!
Ps: my English sucks today, so please bear with me if something I stated didn’t make any sense! And don’t feel offended, it’s probably just me who is not able to express myself clearly enough in my second language!?

I think your second language is probably better than most of our first…nothing wrong with the way you’ve expressed yourself.

MKM, I’m not here to play teacher mate so I won’t react to every post and every poster I don’t have the time and try to keep the moderating down to the minimum especially in respect of Chelsea fans.

I asked a while back back to everyone for a cut back on some of the confrontational posts we were seeing.

I’ve put out several pleas and a warning over the last few days as to the current problems and carrying all this on and said if things continued as they were I would delete posts so I gave fair warning which had it been heeded wouldn’t have needed me to get involved.

The first post that went up after that warning which as Moderator I thought wasn’t in the best interests of the site and carried the problems on I deleted tbh it could have been any one of the posters involved in this current dispute and I’ve not taken any sides.

My warnings, palmeab’s post, this thread and me deleting posts especially from Chelsea fans and especially now shouldn’t be necessary.

By the way the only poster on here who I have a personal relationship with is the liquidator who is a good mate who lives close by who I fortunately get to share company with by going to Chelsea with him among other things .

You might not think so but I try and treat everyone in an even handed way and I moderate as I think best within the rules of the site which by comparison to a lot of club sites keeps this site fairly sensible.

Just as a general point for all anyone who has any issues on how the site is moderated as per the site rules shouldn’t raise it on here but should e mail the Editor.

Best all left there now. Thanks and Cheers 999

Cheers Stuilse and thanks for the compliment.

Love your banter RDP! LOL! Of course I’m Liverpool fan! Why else do you think I keep asking my favourite Man U fan Number7 to find a Scouse wife in Sweden for me ;o)

No need to take it so personally 999. I’m actually a little bit surprised you chose to react like that. I thought I put it very politely especially because it wasn’t my intention to offend you, but apparently I did and for that I apologise. One thing I know is that sometimes people (myself included) do things, not on purpose, that we are not aware of and personally I find it nice to be made aware of…. narrrhh never mind. You know what, we’ll just leave it there as you say, and next time I’ll follow your advise instead. Thanks and cheers MKM

MKM, rest assured that you haven’t offended me at all and neither have I taken anything you posted personally.

Just too reiterate again though there is and was no favouritism several nice friendly warnings went unheeded ie “Chill out lads” subsequently a warning that posts would be deleted if things continued and the next post after that warning that came along looking to extend the dispute and fan the flames I deleted because imo as Moderator it wasn’t in the best interests of the site whoever the poster was was immaterial the only thing that was material was it was the next post after the warning that carried the dispute on.

You raised some points which I sought to answer for you and explained as I have done previously that in keeping with the rules of the site any issues in respect of a site Moderator shouldn’t be raised on site but communicated to the Editor which is done specifically to keep the site focussed on football rather than anything else.Cheers 999

So what is classed as civil tone actually.
So what if some banter goes a bit OTT, nothing more than you would get in any other walks of life on people having varying opinions, blimey surely fans on here have seen or heard a lot worse in the pub pre and post match.
And some posters are seen as or taken more lightly than others, look at the stick wisefan used to get, but his were the only ones deleted, as was with pepsi’s post, suil

    To be continued ha
Stuilse gave as good as he got yet seemed to me only Pepsi was requested to rein it in.
Unless out and out abuse much ado about nothing really.

pylon, as I’ve already pointed out twice already after the warnings which were addressed to all ie “Chill out lads” etc phwepsi’s was the next post that was looking to carry things on and as Moderator I deemed his post unhelpful in putting this silliness behind us had it been Stuilse doing the same and his was the next post following the warnings it would have been Stuilse’s post that would have been deleted.

The forum rules at the front of the site require posters to treat each other respectfully perhaps everyone should remind themselves of the forum rules.

Everybody needs to forget all this now and get back to talking about the football.

Fair do’s 9, be a shame though if people do desert the site.
Look forward to Sunday and then the FA cup final and the double, get in, even more enjoyable if we beat the arse with wenger’s nonsense the last few days.

I thought Stuilse gave far more than he got. It’s a good thing nine called it off…that’s a joke lads ? I’m a Saffa and we don’t take a backward step. However I’m man enough to apologise for my part in the exchange with Pepsi. Sorry lads.

I’m glad that I didn’t offend you 999 – like you said roll on sundsy and next the FA Cup Final. So do you and Liquidator intend to go and watch the game live at Wembley?

BP personally I’ve got nothing against good old English banter quite the contrary mate! I’ve taken screenshots on my iPhone of Some of the things said by OSMO, Shanksy, and Johnny Vegas et al on the old site, and when I’m in a bad mood, I often read them and having the best laugh! “Hoofy near the roofy” LOL!

MKM, It’s tough to get a Cup Final ticket mate even for season ticket holders which I no longer am now that we live in Sunny Somerset but I’ve been lucky enough to have seen 7 Chelsea FA Cup Finals live and in the flesh so I can’t complain but like the majority I will be watching this one on TV with my family all of us wishing and hoping we pull off the Double.

Not sure about the liquidator he was at the Semi Final but even as a long term Season ticket holder he wasn’t sure he would get a ticket for the Final. Cheers 999

Lot of to do about nothing IMO

999 as moderator has a role to play and does what he thinks is necessary and all posters are aware of that responsibility

Every now and then we see posters take things a bit personally but then I would also argue that some posters make comments stating “fact” when it is actually just their opinions, however, if that’s the way they post then I can live with that

Lets just move on and personally I see nothing to make me think that any of our regular posters would decide to leave the platform. KTBFFH

Managed to get a final ticket – it arrived in the post this morning! Apparently something like 28000 tickets went to the supporters of each club, which is more than I remembered them distributing. Apparently we only have about 27000 ST holders, so every ST holder could have got one if they want. Happy days!
