Yeh possibly started there but then got side tracked into a convo on Jose and Rodgers (you referenced a comparison as a side thought in your post).

As I said time will tell but I think you’ll find a few people that rate him as a decent coach, time will tell as I said.

Bob, I agree time will tell, imo Rodgers route back to the PL if that’s the way he goes is probably establishing himself at a mid table club with the hope a top club comes back in for him on the back of a bit of success. Cheers 999

A manager who has come 2nd in the premier league & wins the treble unbeaten in Scotland would easily be a candidate for the England job. Bruce Rioch managed Arsenal with a less impressive CV, so why wouldn’t Rodgers be a candidate. Clearly he wouldn’t be the fans choice, but neither was Rodgers before he got the LFC job.

Sanji, Rodgers is from Northern Ireland and the FA policy now is only to appoint Englishmen as the England Manager so Rodgers could win the treble at Real Madrid and he still wouldn’t be appointed England Manager.

Bruce Rioch lasted a season at Arsenal so it was a very unsuccessful appointment there is no way that the Arsenal fans would accept a Rodgers appointment and given the current problems the Board have with the fans there is no way that the Arsenal Board would want to add to that by appointing Rodgers even if they wanted to which I’m pretty sure they don’t.

Anyway it looks like Wenger might be around for a bit longer yet.

You’re not Rodgers Agent by any chance are you? 🙂

No one is a patch on Jose? He’s been as mad as a hatter for years and the wheels have long since come off. The only thing keeping him up at all is Man utds ability to buy success. you could give their resources to a number of managers in the PL and they’d be higher in the league than jose.

I also don’t agree about Rodgers having a bigger ego than Jose. . . absolutely no chance. This is one regard in which Jose will never be touched by any manager from here until the end of footballing time.

Mr Mak, so pleased Chelsea have Conte as Manager now who answers all the questions posed to him with a smile on his face and is a none to shabby tactical Coach to boot.

Nobody has a bigger self portrait of themselves hanging in their home or those new white nashers though. 🙂

Jose is the doyen of egos, everyone else is in b grade in comparison to him. He is the the mayor, minister, prime minister & president of egoville.

Nine, so far i think we’ve established that the only thing stopping Rodgers managing the equivalent of a midtable premiership club, ie/ the National side England, is his Nationality ? he’s done as well at club level as Big Sam & Gareth Pizzagate. Still think he could manage Arsenal or one of the top 4 in the premiership in the future. I’m not his agent or his portrait artist, but i do think he will now have the experience to go on to be a top, top manager. Cheers ☺

Sanji, as was discussed yesterday the likelyhood is if Rodgers wants to return to the PL and has the ambition to manage a top PL club he will almost certainly need to go to a mid table PL club “a stepping stone club” was how Bob aptly described it and do well there to get a chance of managing a top PL club, time will tell mate.

Are you sure you’re not Rodgers Agent. 🙂 Cheers 999

Now that’s an achievement. Rodgers slightly damaged CV should be repaired a fair bit after this season but if I were him, I wouldn’t hang around in Scotland. He’s not going to win the CL or EL. If I were Rodgers I’d be on the look out for a PL position.
