People are getting angry with Costa on here and rightly so.

    1905

Costa has had a load of service recently he had 2 sitters in the Bournemouth box the game before and missed both one deflected in some how luckily. Against Palace he had a free header from 6 yards out and put it wide and he had several other openings.

Ok so against UTD he didn’t get any service but neither did anyone else in the team because every time the team tried to play forward the play had to go through Costa and the play would break down at Costa’s feet.

His movement has been diabolical in the box he moves away from goal when the cross comes in when he should be attacking the ball.

Bort – in the Bournemouth game he was atrocious but overall I do not think that the service has been as good as it has been earlier in the season. That is not to say that costa himself has not been poor – he has in terms of scoring, of holding the ball up, bringing others into play and he is even now starting to drift wide rather than stay in the box but equally he does thrive on service and it was not until Fabregas came on at the weekend that he got a couple of decent balls over the top (which he failed to control)

However, and this is where I think Conte is coming from, he still poses a threat that cannot be ignored (as you saw with Rojo) so he does occupy defenders for others to hopefully utilise the space. KTBFFH

you cannot continually select players to start when they have not performed for ages. Rather than start as we did before with a false no. 9. On a personal basis I will be glad to see the back of Costa, his antics have given the club a bad name though when he was scoring we did not mind cause as at least it was a positive for the team. But now that his past his best I dont think that too many teams will be too interested in him.

Notnice…I know I’ve a lot what needed to said about Costa but beg to differ with your comment that he wouldn’t appeal to other teams judging by his performance here.Put Costa in a team like one of the big 3 in Spain where he’s playing with the sun on his back, they’re in the shout for trophies year in year out,he has ‘pri madonna’ status and the bumper weekly dough he’ll be on Costa will be a completely different proposition!…I bet £20 to a pinch of poo!.It’s only him being here in this country and at Chelsea that his attitude stinks for the lack of ‘ticked boxes’ like those above!

I actually think that before Xmas Costa was happy, the team were all performing well and he was scoring for fun

Not sure whether it was the so called China bid or not but something has turned Costa and he has not been at the races since then. The thing is, I do not believe that he is deliberately missing chances but his mind does not appear to be as focussed

I think before Xmas everyone respected and acknowledged him more as he had moved from the guy always wanting a fight which is what we saw under Jose. After Xmas he has not gone back to those really bad days but I can see why some may feel he is giving us a bad image which is contrary to everything that Conte has done to date

I do disagree that no one will want him. On his day he is a good striker and one of the best in England so that means we should get a decent fee for him when he leaves (which I think will happen). KTBFFH

I hope he goes. He clearly wants to go. I don’t want him at our club if he doesn’t want to be here. This is the 2nd manager he’s fallen out with as well. I’ll pack his bags.

He as much money as possible and get rid. Let’s bring in a player who wants to be at our club like Lukaku.

She’s thrown her rattles out of the pram once to many for my liking, temper tantrum after temper tantrum…. my nieces act with more professionalism when playing with their dolls than the big girl with her knickers in a twist… pathetic player… I hope Conte sends him to the youth side to train cause he doesn’t deserve his place in the squad.

fully agree chaps, see no value whatsoever playing him from here on in, bench at most, who knows, Batsi may even get the winner tomorrow, more chance than Costa has.
Pretty obvious the likes of Vertonghen will give him plenty shit tomorrow to induce the red card, which is pretty much nailed on with his attitude lately.
Once again Conte’s press conference today will be dominated by this.
Pretty obvious his agent and Costa himself have made sure this never went away for them to come back so quickly.

Like I said, come 22nd May we wont even see him in England again.

I think none of us would want to retain a player who does not want to be here and that is the impression coming across from Costa

Definitely appears as though China are looking to make another bid in the Summer so the writing does appear to be on the wall

Personally, while I can understand he may want to leave and the money is a big lure, a large incentive for any player is to win trophies so they have something to look back on when they retire so even if Costa does think he is leaving I cannot understand not continuing to give his all when the double is still a realistic possibility…? To be part of that and to be able to tell that to his mates, family children etc. I would have expected to be high on his agenda…?

Maybe I am just being naive – don’t know. Just hope that he bucks his ideas up tomorrow, assuming of course that he is picked. KTBFFH

Look he’s a great player when on fire but we he’s not, he offers nothing other than a possibility of a red card. I like Costa as a player but his attitude is so poor. For that reason, it’s time to get rid.

I really hope we bring Lukaku back in the summer. I understand Everton are upset with us because of the Stones situation but how long can you hold a grudge. I think if we offer £70m plus, then Lukaku will be coming back. Hopefully, we get a similar fee for Costa.

Like many, I’d bench Costa but probably not this weekend. Maybe against the Saints. If Costa by half time looks like getting a red card then get him off the pitch.

    Lukaku from everton, no way.
Price too high, and they will just give us the runaround again, as 9 pointed out the fact we have no buy back clause leaves us paying over the odds if indeed Conte did want him.
And personally do not see him strengtening the side, especially for the CL.

Get this, some sources claiming Everton will jack up the price even further to keep Lukaku out of the clutches of certain sides. There’s even another report Everton’s got their beady eyes on Abrahams which if true the hierarchy there must have a massive pair of cajones hung on them to think that will ever come to fruition the way they’ve treated us in the past!.

Lukaku from Everton ‘yes way’ plus one other. His goal scoring exploits in the PL over the last few years prove that he always gets goals. His goals to games ratio is improving, he’s improving his skill levels every season and will continue to improve all round as a player…especially under Conte. I’ve no problem him leading our line next season. Irrespective of what we pay for him, the Chinese will offer us at the least the same amount for Costa. No brainer in my opinion.

Stuilse – so long as Conte is convinced that Lukkau is the man to lead Chelsea to further glory then I agree that I have no issue with how much we pay for him. KTBFFH

If Everton want Tammy – then let’s do a deal before people go mad at me. A loan deal but a two year deal, with the option to recall if and only if he’s not getting game time. The other thing is that we are treated as equal to other clubs in negotiations for Lukaku if that’s who Conte wants to lead the attack next season.

I agree that the price being touted about for Lukaku is high but this is the price for top performing players now a days. Torino want £80m for their forward Bellotti. Morata at £35m is a good option but I wouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket. If we could get Lukaku for £70m or under I think that’s a good deal for us. We’d be getting a player who had a proven epl goalscoring record and a guy who wants to play for our club (after all he’s a fan). If Morata were to come as well, we’d have a guy with a great record in the CL. So if Lukaku did fail in the CL, we’d have Morata. Just my opinion.

Another option of cause is to give youth a chance and give Tammy a chance but I’d put my mortgage on that not happening.

I think we have to think very carefully about what we do with Tammy next season and if he’s not going to play regularly for Chelsea he needs a loan to a PL club for a season but only to one where he’s going to get games and play regularly.

I know we’ve been here before but this boys potentially a real talent and perhaps even more importantly he’s got absolutely the right attitude too so we have to manage him very carefully.

I still wouldn’t rule out Tammy staying at Chelsea given the likely amount of games we will play next season with the addition of CL football but we would need to use Tammy like United have used Rashford this season with a meaningful number of starts and some meaningful substitute appearances too to make that work and he could play very well alongside a player like Morata in a two to imo .

I rarely if ever disagree with Lee but I wouldn’t want to see us loan Tammy to Everton as part of any deal for Lukaku certainly not for two years anyway and additionally if we are to replace Costa with Lukaku I wouldn’t want us bleeding all over the carpet to do so we’ve made enough mistakes over Lukaku already imo.

If Costa does go to China and given the wages on offer he well might the fee will be far more favourable than if he returned to A.M or went to PSG for instance but suggestions of £100m or more from China is very optimistic imo.

…and too right 999!.Just because money will be no object if the Chinese came calling for Costa it doesn’t necessarily mean we can reciprocate paying way over the odds if it’s deemed Lukaku is a viable replacement. You’ll have some saying that business is business and that personalities shouldn’t come into it but it’s quite clear Everton aren’t reading from the same script…no way we should be jumping to Everton’s tune!.And oh btw, should Everton have the temerity to make tentative enquiries into Abrahams availability there’s a strong temptation to sink to their depth telling them to go procreate a feathered friend even though I suppose simply not dignifying the enquiry with a response might be better, treat it with the contempt it deserves by not giving it any credence…WITH A COLD SILENCE!,I’m sure Everton would get the message!
