    Good Morning Fellow Faithful

All I want for a Tuesday evening is another three points and a performance which vindicates our top-four position. This is by no means an easy task. It will be as tough an outing as Barnsley and Hudders were. Hoping that Taylor is re-introduced and that the Pedraza starts. There will be other changes from Monk, as well, I’m sure; probably Phillips or Vieira (in place of the disappointing O’Kane on Friday night) alongside Bridcutt.

    We shall see.

It will be a tough game alright; Fulham are on a good run and gunning for the play-offs somewhat surprisingly given their early season form. This game to me is a “stick or twist” for me. Do we stick with the tried and tested playing style which, like it or not, has got us to where we are or do we take a bit of a gamble and twist by tinkering with the team.

I would like to see a twist personally. There are limitations as regards what is possible as I have alluded to previously. There is little scope for doing anything with the back 4 other than to bring back Taylor (which I would like) although I wonder if Garry Monk is making a point by not putting him straight back in.

In midfield we have Hernandez who is in poor and needs to be taken out of the side. Doukara and Dallas do OK but are kind of average. I still think that O’Kane should be retained but I am unsure that the workman like style we are adopting suits him. At the same time we have Phillips raring to go, Vieira who can come in and we also have Barrow who is sat on the sidelines who perhaps deserves a chance to show what he can do. Others like Sacko who have already had a decent run in the past need to stay on the sidelines for a bit but I really would like to see a lot more of Pedraza.

There is nowt to be done up front other than give someone a go for the last 20 minutes and give Wood a breather but then why the heck would you? There is not much of an alternative in personnel and would you bring off your best player in a tight game? No, No, No!

Another 3 points in this game is a must although I think I’d settle for a point.

Looking forward to tonight’s match, hoping Pedraza gets a shot, he finished his chance well on Friday and think he deserves a start!

I have my lucky mascot on standby, might have another wager, hoping for another lucky one 😉

3 points would be a fantastic result, or as Phoenix has said, would settle for a point 🙂

Midfield could be tinkered with, will be interesting to see the starting eleven…

fingers crossed and do us proud lads!!

That was absolutely nerve wracking! It was worse than the Alamo. We were hammered. They could have smashed us by about five or six. Once again the defence carried us through. This is becoming a recurring pattern. We just do not have adequate quality and depth.

At the end of it all we are lucky to have ESCAPED with a point (they had a legitimate goal disallowed). For how much longer is our luck going to continue to ride? Am I over-reacting? Maybe I need to calm down, gather my thoughts and react more rationally and less emotively.

I only caught the highlights on Sky but by all accounts that was a very fortunate point gained at Fulham.

We are playing a style that makes the opposition look like champions and our luck simply cannot last. When you are forced into a “Rope a Dope” style or perhaps even elect to play a counter attacking style you have to have pace and clinical finishing to finish the opposition off. That is where it kind of falls down for us and we have had the rub of the green in the past few matches. OK first level defence, uninspiring midfield and Wood apart no attack to speak of. Even so balance that with the substandard team we had last season and you can’t help but be pleased with the progress.

The Poodles won again as did Brighton and Newcastle. Best hope is to remain in the top 6 and dream that somehow, somewhere there will be a winning formula and style will be found to prevail. Realistically, I think we have achieved so much more this season than I dared hope and so, unlike TSM(!), I am not going to get in a lather.

Going up this year is beyond us I am afraid. There I said it!

    Keep the Faith.

Many non-Leeds United football fans ( especially those who follow the big guns) keep telling me: “Hey, your boys are sitting pretty. Looks like this is your season …”.

The truth of the matter is that most of these well-meaning folk make their observations from a limited perspective: they keep one eye on the league table and the other on the final result. They are oblivious to the inner workings of our team and blinded to the glaring shortfalls. To the proverbial outsider, we’re “high-riding”. To the insider, in the know, it’s a different story. We are actually struggling when compared to the others around us. The back four, Green and Wood have been carrying us. In between we have been nothing short of your old fashioned cream puff!

Full marks to Phoenix for a healthy dose of realism. We’ve come a long way since last season and ought to be grateful for the upward curve – irrespective of the final outcome. We’re still at the wicket and it’s been a long time since that has been the case with ten overs left.

Just watched the game in which Barcelona beat PSG 6 – 1 to overturn a first-leg deficit of 0 – 4. Amazing stuff!

In all my years watching football – 40 years and more I would think – I have to say I struggle to find any better in a forward line than Messi, Suarez and Neymar. Who needs a defence!

We can but dream but it would be a rare thing to be able to witness such class in the flesh.
