    They’re a falling into place.

First…sign up the manager. This means a) stability, but b) that the owner will likely now bring in a few key players that will have been part of the deal getting done.

Next we need Evans to be appointed captain and sign a new contract: one in which he has assurance that certain new players will soon join the team…such as Jones and Smalling.

All that is then needed is Gareth Barry (to fill the Fletcher) role, and an attacking link-up man with some vision. N.B. If he is genuinely out of sync with TP, maybe Chadli goes and a more committed player of similar stature comes in?

Whatever…I think the TP signing is going to trigger some positive moves.

Yes there will definitely be positive moves mostly involving supporters heading for the exits!

Derwent, I so wanted to resist, but I couldn’t help myself. I will talk through your points. Firstly signing Pulis could be construed as the safe, unambitious option. Your 2nd point – how do you equate point 1 means that point 2 will happen. I thought TP already has final say on transfers, so where are they?? I agree with your Evans comment, other than how can any club assure a player that they will sign player X,Y & Z?? They have no idea if the players want to join?? Gareth Barry on a 2 year deal – NO WAY thankyou. Stop buying ‘OLD’ players past their best. Trust in some younger players for once. We don’t need 11 x over 30’s. And finally, ‘positive’ is not a word in TP’s vocabulary. Grit, determination, work rate, effort, unlucky, battling ARE all words he understands though.
