Well that shows you just how badly Carra took that defeat on Saturday
March 14, 2018 at 5:41 am #1611895He’s passionate about us, he’s been with us for too long not to be and you can always see that im his posts on insta etc.
The bit I don’t personally get is the spitting, a few gestures would have been more appropriate but then again I believe it was out of character.
That being said everyone should move on and in no way should he lose his job over this one isolated incident and for what it’s worth he he’s still a very engaging pundit.
March 14, 2018 at 10:20 am #1612043Bob… I just think that Carra is not a very nice person, he is argumentative, arrogant and for the most part full of himself.
When threatened or pushed he has always gone a bit mental in the past. A pretty good player but not someone i would like to have a beer with.
March 14, 2018 at 11:11 am #1612065NB – I disagree, you should try watching ‘Carragher – A Liverpool life’ a really good watch he is a committed family man who does a lot of work in the community and has never forgotten his roots, don’t let a rush of blood cloud your judgement on a good man.
P.S. Even if he can lose his temper a bit I would still rather have a beer with him than some boring f*cker like Phil Neville 🙂 Personally I don”t pick my mates or people I drink with purely on their morals, most of my mates have a fair few gaps in their moral compass, as do I, I think we all do but some on here seem to portray themselves as white than white.
March 14, 2018 at 11:14 am #1612069Anyway talking of embarrassments did anyone see the chief brexiteers Utd last night, now that was embarrassing 🙂
March 14, 2018 at 12:27 pm #1612123As an aside, I am sure all Liverpool players have seen the clip, and I hope some of them finally realise what true passion for Liverpool means (not that I’m condoning Carra’s spitting btw, for which he was totally wrong) – and aim to show their passion with top performances on the pitch
March 14, 2018 at 2:01 pm #1612200You know what pax, you can put players up on a pedestal and worship them like you want, I don’t do that anymore. Watching a documentary like that would be a total waste of time for me. Its a advert about how wonderful he is etc.
Anyways, its not the end of the world for Carra, I’m sure he will be back but he will always make himself such a easy mark.
March 14, 2018 at 2:59 pm #1612246NB – It is not about putting him on a pedestall, it is about realising he is a normal bloke, and as such his guard will drop and he will acdt like any other normal bloke. It could be said that you are putting him on a pedestal by expecting him to never react and now he has slipped off that pedestal you can’t handle it.
March 14, 2018 at 3:26 pm #1612261Agreed Pax. At the end of the day Carra is just a normal bloke playing football who got famous because of how big football is on the global stage. People always assume they’d know what to do when they are famous, yet in reality most people do not know the pressure that comes with fame and notoriety. It’s easy to sit and judge someone with fame, yet it may not be different when you’re in his shoes.
March 14, 2018 at 3:41 pm #1612282Geller – Spot on, if I was famous I would have been in the paper on a few occasions for the wrong reasons, luckily I’m not so don’t have to worry about such things.
March 14, 2018 at 4:12 pm #1612299Relative to the other misdemeanours committed by Sky Sports commentators/analysts (Gray & Keys, Big Ron etc), he’s probably got off quite lightly. This is probably down to the nature of the “crime” as it can be passed off as being an out-of-character/heat-of-the-moment episode; whereas the other ones that I alluded to (sexism and racism) tend to suggest an ingrained and habitual attitude.
March 14, 2018 at 5:04 pm #1612323I don’t buy the idea that ‘normal’ blokes spit at people. If so I’m glad to be a weirdo
March 14, 2018 at 5:37 pm #1612327right mate, he is just a normal bloke… I wouldn’t be surprised to hear him gambling on the game and losing big time.
March 17, 2018 at 1:45 pm #1613666It’s not whether he’s a normal bloke he’s clearly a passionate supporter of us still and clearly overstepped the mark massively and is feeling the repercussions.
That being said he has apologised and appears sincere in this and we should move on.
For me it doesn’t diminish what he achieved and I still think he was a good player and great pundit.
March 19, 2018 at 9:59 pm #1614569I think Sky will get rid of him. Remember when they chucked out Rodney Marsh for the Tsunami joke?
March 20, 2018 at 5:22 am #1614588Of course they will get rid of him, he will do some much needed publicity stunts, take a anger management class and go over to BT in a year or so.
I wonder how he will tackle El Hadji Diouf now that he is a spitter like him.
