What does he actually do! What was the point in him being at the game today?

Why was he not doing his job down at Southampton v’s Swansea where two of our targets Van Dyke and Bertrand are based and watching Abrahams for Swansea!

Or at Palace watching Loftus Cheek or in Brighton watching Izzy Brown!

Or somewhere in Europe trying to finalise deals.

What use can he be sitting behind the bench watching the first team!!!

This man is a pathetic waste of space !!!

Catch yourself on Roman and get him out.

Is that even a solution? Well i’m not sure if sacking Emenalo will solve our problems. You can’t place the entire blame on Emenalo’s door step. The should be new arrivals yes, but you can’t over pay players. Yes we need a new CM player, but. You can’t get a quality one that may match Bakayoko, because we expect Bakayoko to be fit in two weeks time. So we should go and look for a back up. So its difficult getting a quality back up player than a quality first team starter.

Conte won the league last year by getting the best out of tbe team he was in charge of.

The role Emenalo has in relation to the first team is to sign the players the first team coach identifies, which he has and continues to fail at.

He is in charge of youth development which includes “developing” young players to bring them on to first team standard, Despite the success our youth teams enjoy,in his tenure there is not one that has broken into the first team at Chelsea as a regular or any of the other top clubs in the prem!

What credit can you give him for last season, he sat behind the bench, not on it having no input to the first team, whilst at the same time avoiding his responsibility of being out and about either watching potential targets or supporting loanees!

I remember when Abramovic first took control of our club and the expectations and ambitions he bought with him became greater than the fans were used too and our fans would not have this kind of knee jerk reaction to 1 loss for many a year. Now the fans expect perfection something that does not exist.

Emenalo is not the problem. Cancerous spreading negativity from this new breed of Chelsea fan is the real problem expectations far out of line from reality.

I don’t think from outside we have much idea of what Emanalo does or how well he does it. The academy is brilliant yet the players are never given a real chance in the first team, is that Emanalo’s fault? We have signed a lot of brilliant players on his watch (Hazard etc) does he get any credit for this? The last couple of tranfer windows have not been great, is that his fault, the Boards, Romans or the madness of the market?

People should know that Emenalo signed Kante last season, he signed Luiz, he signed Alonso. plus we also had a squad of former champions. Conte came and lifted their spirit. credit to where its due. Emenalo has done some good job. although i’m not a fan of him. but looking at yesterday’s game you will understand that Emenalo could have done little about it.

I think that the honest answer here is that no one outside of the Club knows the exact role that Roman has asked Emanalo to perform

Many people have a go stating he is useless at his job without knowing what is expected of him. They also tend to forget that he has been at the Club a long time providing advice/direction/information to Roman and this by any kind of measurement is the most successful period of the Club in our history

This would imply that he has a vague idea of what he is doing and that he does bring value to the Club? Like any human being he will make mistakes. My understanding, and I could be wrong, is that he also has a team that works/reports to him and these are more likely to be the guys going to see and monitor some of the loan players although I am sure I read that all loanees have to report to Chelsea within an hour of a game finishing. Not clear why but have to assume to provide some kind of feedback for the Club

Anyway, while I am no wiser than anyone on here about what value Emanalo brings to the Club, I just feel it is a bit harsh for all negativity to be aimed in his direction. He will be here long after Conte for example and Chelsea will continue to win trophies…!! KTBFFH

The call for Emenalo out is wrong. We have to realise that he is trusted by Mr Abrahamovich. He oversaw the transition of our academy which is now the most admired academy in the Premier League. He scouted Lukaku, De-Bryune who unfortunately were let go bu Mourinho because they were ‘NOT GOOD ENOUGH’. These two players are now star players in their own right. Please give the man some credit. He does a lot of good work for the club.

I also cannot say the guy is doing a bad job if you look at how succesfull Chelsea have been in recent years-the transfer window has changed with exorbitant prices for average players and even for the top players, you cant simply hand out millions of pounds as if it was sand even though some are doing just that.

Accepting the transfer market has been very difficult this summer with prices going through the roof, Ox tor £40m when he can leave on a a free next summer is an example of that, but Chelsea FC shouldn’t be scrambling around for players on the last few days of a transfer window when Conte had identified players and positions that needed strengthening before the end of last season.

Nor should we have released so many players on loan and or sold players without we had incomings fully set up.

Also why were we going for Chamberlain allegedly to play wing back when he had made it known he didn’t want to play wing back at Arsenal and was a key reason for him leaving Arsenal, and why was Marina allegedly talking football issues to Ox.

Someone somewhere has to take responsibility for our failures in the last few transfer windows!

Its hard to judge his performance because I’m still not sure what he actually does, its clear there are certain players he had a big hand in scouting and bringing to the club, such Lukakku, TiBo, Courtois, De Bruyne, Salah and Baba, but is he the final authority on comings and outgoings, its hard to tell. He clearly has some say influence in the hiring and firing of managers. Always thought Marina was the main person when it came to player negotiations though.

panda, all true mate which is why I would like to see a proper root and branch investigation into what’s gone wrong not for the first time in this transfer window.

I wouldn’t rush to judgement just yet though because as you say different people have different responsibilities with Marina in charge of negotiations etc but neither would I rush in and give all the credit to Emenalo for the likes of Courtois etc because the Scouts on the ground were all involved in unearthing them and Emenalo is not some Super Scout flying around the World picking it future stars.

Whoever we sign today a club like Chelsea shouldn’t be scrambling around in the last few hours of the transfer window trying to make last minute signings as we are now and Roman imo should be asking some very tough questions of those responsible for our transfers even should we sign a Mahrez or two between now and 11pm.

Not a good sign -Emanalo pictured with our new signing Zappacosta -why isn’t Antonio doing it -is this another Emanalo signing that the manager doesn’t want?! Why is this man given so much power- surely he has to take responsibility for yet another humiliating window for the club. The man needs to be got rid of -NOW!

He is not leaving,Emenalo leaving Chelsea is on his own accord. He doesn’t have final say on signings. By the way they have supported Conte with more than 250 million since he came to the club.

Supported Conte with more than £250m…wonder what our net spend us since he’s arrived, including loanees? Conte did his job last season. He won the league. Winning it this season will be far more difficult. I can see us spending in January.
