Lukaku will get more than 30 goals this season at this rate.

Lingard coming in actually changed the whole setup..I was frustrated he overlooked Herrera and Martial and brought in Lingard instead but yesterday was clear to me, the coach knows better this is the third time this season we scored 4 goals and each game was impacted by the subs, Lingard has 2 or 3 assists I think and hasn’t started a game yet..a very good squad player to have, it’s these kind of players that win you the league, he’s a bit frustrating and all but he cost us nothing doesn’t start every game and does a decent job when brought in..what more could you ask for ✌

I made the mistake of thinking Fellaini had finally turned a corner on Wed. Sadly, he was back to his ineffective best yesterday. I thought we were very poor and that was mainly due to the midfield. Fellaini isn’t good enough to play as a cm and I think Mata is the week link in the team, he just doesn’t do enough. Matic was immense and we would have been in big trouble without him but surely Herrera would be a be a better option beside him? De Gea kept us in the game twice yesterday when the defence was all over the place. 2 wingers as fb’s, 2 no 10’s, Fellaini, Jones, Rashford or Martial, I still think we have a long way to go before we will be challenging for the CL. Top 4 probably.

A goalscorer will never score every chance, just like creative players won’t make an assist every time they touch the ball and flair players won’t beat their man every time they take them on. The most important thing is to dust yourself down after a miss/mistake and go again. We look more relentless than in recent years and that leads to us overpowering teams towards the end of matches. Having fired-up substitutes has led to many goals as well and it’s nice that everyone seems to be pulling in the same direction at the moment.

With regards to Lingard, I know he is not everyone’s cup of tea as he is a limited player, but credit where it’s due, he made a massive impact when he came on. Though at the time I’d have preferred Martial instead.

Lingard was a nuisance with his pace, definitely changed the momentum of the game which was all Everton when he came on. I was frustrated Martial wasn’t coming on but it was another great substitution by Mourinho.
We’ve made some cracking signings the last two summers but I still think keeping hold of De Gea was our most important one – he’s absolutely incredible!

    happyhurling – ”nuisance and incredible!”.

I admit that I do not always agree with some of your posts my friend, but your last one is one of the positives.

You have used 2 appropriate words to describe 2 individuals and you nailed them both bulls-eye.

I know you are intelligent enough to know the meanings and values of both and as such which one is definite United standard, always with the utmost respect to the ”nuisance”.

emmicallef – They are both inconsistent but when they are good I would class them both as potential United standard. However they have both had too many stinkers and if Lingard has a positive it is that he plays with a smile unlike the glum Martial.

Big K – I think we have a misunderstanding my friend.

My post was referring to Lingard[nuisance] and De gea [incredible] as ‘painted’ by HAPPY.

I do agree with your ‘smile'[Lindgard] and ‘glum'[Martial] definitions though.cheers.
