A game which both teams wanted to win so a decent watch, one I thought we shaded with the better chances so slightly disappointed not to win.

With our fragile players being injured (Johnson/ Shaq) the team set up was slightly square peg in round holes with Afellay who played ok. We stated well and rewarded with the ‘Robot’ it was great to see Crouchie get his 100 PL goal and in football terms 8 minutes after Rooney got his record goal in the same net.

Arnie missed two easy chances and Crouchie nearly added to his goal. Everton’s goal I thought had clipped Shawx with lukaku offside so with the flag up I was relieved as I sit inline the goal the six yard box. but Everton players complaining sadly the ref changed his mind and spoke to the liner. I think a stronger ref would have stuck by the original decision. I do hope the same decision would be made in our favour in the near future.
The second half Charlie tried the long distance effort and swung in several great crosses so we could not find a winner and Grant pulled off a stunning save to keep the point late on, when Everton had their two chances. Berahino did ok and nearly scored so at the end a point the least we deserved.

A reasonable summing up, Clitheroe, but O do not understand your reference to Crouchie’s goal in relation to Rooney – you lost me there. As for Arnie’s two easy chances, I thought that he should have dinked the ball over Robles for the second, but for the first he was denied by a piece of excellent goal keeping with Robles coming off his line so quickly and preventing Arnie from getting his shot in. As for their equalizer, the argument on that one will rage on for a while. If Lukaku hadn’t been where he was Grant would have easily come out and gathered the ball, but as it was Ryan had to play it! As you say, if something similar happens in future and we score like that I hope that we get the same judgement.
