I have no wish or desire to hear any further comment from Thomas Christiansen. If he somehow keeps his job I want to see the fruits of his labour on the pitch. Up to yet, underlined by the pathetic performance against an average Brentford team, what we are being fed is a series of half baked, shapeless offerings and characterless drivel and a team that capitulates as soon as it goes behind.

I have no idea what TC and his backroom staff are doing on the training pitch but the only tactic for the team to fiddle about with the ball in defence, pass back to the keeper for him to hoof it up the pitch. Considering that the distribution skills that the keeper has are, shall we be kind and say, not the best, this is where we hand possession back to the opposition.

A thumping by an average Championship team. Another in a long line of defeats.

    Depressing.

The football being served up at the moment is dire. Why can’t Leeds players tackle (fairly) and get the ball off the opposition? The opposition do it against us, but our players seem totally clueless and not up for the challenge. Our defenders just run backwards trying to stop the oppostion, why don’t they actually try to get the ball from the toes of their opponent?

The only way this season can be saved is if Radrizzani changes his ideas and signs proven QUALITY championship-savvy players in January, not cheap European hopefuls. We still need a decent CB to replace Bartley, a decent goalkeeper to replace Green, and a decent LB to replace Taylor, not to mention a good quality striker to replace Chris Wood (Lassogga and Grot are not up to it). None of this was addressed in the summer. We don’t need Orta, we need a decent manager who signs his own players who will have the know-how to play in the championship and the desire to get Leeds United promoted.

It all depends on Radrizzani now.

There are some (Uncle Frank!) that advocate the nuclear option to one extreme and others that will accept complete inertia. The answer is somewhere in the middle.

For me, Andrea Radrizzani has done a lot of good and is moving us in the right direction on a strategic level. I hope he does not lose sight of the operational level where TC is clearly not up to the job and Orta has only very slightly improved matters but not in the places that make a difference on the pitch. That combination is looking disastrous.

The suggestions made by Judy for acquisitions are sound but I wonder how you also get in some leadership and character into the squad? Can’t see anyone in our current set up to sort this out quickly and effectively.

For asking Philips to play the number 10 role against Brentford when he has Saiz in the squad tells you all you need to know about the nous of TC and why for me he is a dead man walking.

I hear what you’re saying Phoenix, but there’s a nagging doubt that isn’t quite going away (perhaps it’s a decade and a half of being mugged off) that Radz may be just another shyster chancing his arm.

He has in essence bought the club back from the sales of Taylor and Wood, recruited his mate Orta who is an interfering and negative influence at this club. Radz took an age to bring in another manager when Monk left (who clearly saw what was coming in terms of Orta). We have brought in a load of random and mainly unproven players so close to the start of the season, who are not equipped (Saiz aside) to deal with the mental and physical demands of the Championship. The majority of players brought in are substandard and yet again we seem to be doing things on the cheap, which by now we all know doesn’t work. We’ve well and truly been found out and this lot do not seemingly have the resilience to come back from this, TC has lost it and he has no answers for our current plight.

I am off down to the Roscoe for a few pints and maybe a dance with some lucky lass to cheer me up, now where’s miss Leeds and Judy.

I can’t say I disagree with any of the comments regarding the quality of the players that have been imported. Sáiz is playing well but for all his performances he has not been cemented into a permanent role. All the others, save for the occasional glimmer here and there, new players as well as existing, have been much of a dreadful muchness. The ones worth preserving with IMHO would be Vieira and Philips. It is indeed a sorry state of affairs.

Like I say, there is a balance to be struck but Victor Orta is 100% responsible for the recruitment side and Thomas Cluelessen is 100% responsible for what the players are doing (or not doing) on the pitch and for the style, formation and team selections. Andrea Radrizzani is 100% responsible for the management team that deals with all of the above. So you can have someone with a hair trigger like our old friend Massimo Cellino or someone who might just wake up and smell the coffee post relegation.

My sincere hope is that AR is proactive and will take decisive action as necessary at the end of this month if there is no improvement as regards the Head Coach (and frankly I can’t see any upturn in the results for us) and also take a view on whether he can trust Orta with the coming January transfer window (his track record for recruiting players here and elsewhere is generally cr*p)

If some are off drinking and womanising and others are hiding, I think I will devote my time constructively and set about making my voodoo dolls and shopping for sharp pins.

There is a two week window before we take on Boro at Elland Road so there is peace for the wicked!
