My feelings when leaving the ground two years age was of Joy, yesterday it was of very concerned for our future length of time in the PL. This was even worse than a lot of very mediocre performances this season, and only very few good performances.

Arsenal played well, worked hard and not tippy tappy slow play they usually play. Stoke helped by being a yard off the pace and using the ball as a hot potato. The 10 minute spell we put in effort the crowd got behind them and the old Stoke returned for a blink of the eye.
Too many of our players were playing for team me, even more so than they have for most of the season.
Hughes has a big job as since Jan 2016 we have and are going further backwards each month. We are one point of our lowest ever PL total. Thanks to loanees Grant (now permanent) and BMI for keeping us above the trap door.
So can Hughes find a way of playing which the players fit and buy into i really hope so but its a wait and see. Thankfully the season is over at home and we survived for another year, i hope it is a blip but reality is 16 months is no blip.

Until Jack got injured and despite a poor start we were being tipped as outsiders to gain a place in the Champions League. From that point onwards everything seemed to go wrong and this season has seen us sink even more into the mire. I still cannot decide which is worse, this season or TP’s last season – one thing I do know is that I will not be wasting any money on the Season Review dvd this time round. As you say, Clitheroe, if it wasn’t for Lee and Bruno we would probably have been relegated. MH has a mammoth task on his hands – he needs to get rid of a load of oldies and also younger ones who will not make the grade and bring in at least four, maybe five younger, better players. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Bruno will sign, so in addition we need two full backs and two midfielders with strength, pace and the ability to open up defences. Hopefully Bojan will come back fully charged and he will be able to regain the form that we know he is capable of. I am sure that the money will be available as I cannot see the board giving MH their backing and not following it up with the cash. It will be a very interesting window and one that will surely define where we are going next season.
