It was very good to hear from Uncle Frank again. Hoping to see more contributions from him. Will Miss Leeds ever surface? I loved that lady’s style.
Phoenix: bitter as it was to swallow, I rather enjoyed the “sliced, diced and sweet FA” metaphor you served up the other night. I was so angry at that dismal performance that I could neither summon up the energy nor find the inclination to offer an objective analysis of the game. There’s no need for further postmortems, anyway, as there have been extensive reports on the game bemoaning Thomas and his band of let-downs.
After Friday evening, I am not really sure about what to expect on Tuesday? We could see an improvement from our last outing, and just as we begin to take heart and look forward to Brentford on Saturday, the rot may well set in again! I’m sick and tired of playing around with pencil, paper and permutations. Tactical tinkering (my favourite pastime from days of yore) has now become an exercise in futility.
With the exception of Saiz (and one or two others) there is a dearth of quality players to summon up. We called out, loudly, for Vieira after Reading embarrassed us. TC duly obliged against Bristol and the youngster delivered the goods. In the next game, he produced a limp and lifeless performance giving (I read) the ball away cheaply on no less than eight occasions. This is just one example that I have chosen to illustrate the proverbial hot-cold syndrome that we have to endure. O’Kane, Phillips, Jansen, Pennington all fall into this category. What does it matter; tactical formations and this midfielder or the other? There simply isn’t enough quality. All things considered, I’ve resigned myself to MTM, once again (mid-table mediocrity).
I have no idea what TC is going to do to stop the Derby County midfielders from running the show on Tuesday? We produced the most sparkling performance of the season in the corresponding fixture last time round. Can we do it again? I think not. Phoenix, I hear you saying, “Keep the Faith”. Another voice inside me is whispering, “Faith without works is dead”.
We shall wait and see. Sufferance is the badge of all our tribe!
October 30, 2017 at 5:06 pm #1551385The glaring thing for me is, and like TSM I struggle to see any light at the end of the tunnel, there is no leadership on the touchline or on the pitch.
Thomas Christiansen, as far as I can see, looks like a haunted man on the touchline forever griping at the officials and like a rabbit caught in the headlights in the post match interviews. I have seen him claim that we should have prevailed in the last match. I wonder what game he was watching. He will not last long at this rate. 14 games? We’d normally be on out third manager by now!
On the pitch there are, in winning teams, two or three individuals rallying or rollocking the others. We amazingly have Calamity Cooper as Captain which to me is ridiculous but I can’t see anyone else qualified to take up that mantle either.
Oh Well. Leeds ’til I die.
Bring on the Rams on Haloween Night.
Keep the faith. WAL.
October 31, 2017 at 3:27 pm #1551803Alright tsm and phoenix nice to hear from you both. I am back been having women trouble again, they keep leaving me (I am not sure why though). I’m glad that cretin from the old site hasn’t found his way on here. Nice to see some familiar faces, on to football I really can’t see us winning tonight, we’ll be out fought and out thought again and that’s me being positive.
October 31, 2017 at 7:57 pm #1551851Can’t quibble with the line up considering the non availability of some.
Sacko and Grot on the bench. Hope we don’t need them!
October 31, 2017 at 9:13 pm #15518802nd half – precarious lead. Derby finding their way back. Not so comfortable …
October 31, 2017 at 9:28 pm #1551887We had it coming! Donkey Sackho.
October 31, 2017 at 9:31 pm #1551888Sacko on the pitch and making a difference!
October 31, 2017 at 9:47 pm #1551897Here we go again. Relegation form? Immune to pain!
October 31, 2017 at 10:08 pm #1551905Time for the clueless one to go, a car crash waiting to happen, totally inept and completely out of his depth. Radz needs to get on the phone to Strachan.
October 31, 2017 at 10:17 pm #1551915Pathetic, pathetic interview from Christensen. A man who has clearly lost the plot. Time to pack up.
November 1, 2017 at 8:45 am #1552000So, here we are. One win in six. We are heading for a relegation scrap.
To be fair, we were a bit unlucky last night not to come out with a point. On the hour mark, we were 1-0 ahead and should have been out of sight having missed out on at least two opportunities which on another day would have gone flying in; Derby never turned up in a scruffy game. There were decent performances from Jansson, Pennington, especially Vieira and also O’Kane. The fact of the matter is that we play like a bunch of individuals rather than a team and a side than is hopeful rather than expectant.
Thomas Christiansen bothers me with each passing game. His neurotic demeanour on the side of the pitch is not doing anyone any favours on it. His post-match interviews makes me think that he imagines the fans to be complete fools. Can someone please explain to me the purpose of having Sacko and Grot in the first team squad and the point of bringing them onto the pitch in the last part of the game as I am at a complete loss? Surely to Goodness, the Head Coach has managed to work that one out? One is simply never going to be good enough and the other might be at some point but is nowhere near ready to play at this level. Playing them at all is like moving the deck chairs around on the Titanic and adding a couple of empty cardboard boxes into the mix. It does not make one chuffing difference! Do or try something different for pitys sake. You have to wonder about others like Roofe and how much longer they need to prove themselves.
I agree with others in that TC must be on notice. Surely?

November 3, 2017 at 10:53 pm #1553339Depressing, ain’t it, guys? I wonder how far down the table we will have fallen before we play Brentford tomorrow evening? The only straw to clutch at is we have beaten Bolton, Birmingham, Burton, Burnley and Bristol City – and Brentford begins with a B!!!!! Fingers crossed!
Regarding whether TC should go, is it all his fault? Orta should share the blame – he has bought so many players who are just not good enough. It is very worrying that the players who are playing in the first team are ALL on long contracts! Surely they can’t be feeling so comfortable and secure that they feel they no longer need to try so hard? We need players who want to give their all for the team and Leeds United and never stop trying to improve their performances.
