I will be interested to know what other aspects are used to measure attacking players. could you please enlighten me what other measures do we use. because i don’t remember a United midfielder with loads of assists right?
February 28, 2017 at 5:51 pm #1443218@wise-fan. The Manchester United attacking midfield has bad stats all round except Mata and maybe Mkhitaryan considering the extended period for which he was dropped.
Attacking midfielders are primarily measured by goals and assists for me.
Liverpool’s attack is much more fluid than Manchester United’s without a natural striker so it follows that they have a more even spread of goals among attackers.
Manchester United, however, have a reliable goal scorer in Zlatan like all Mourinho teams so we don’t need as many from midfield to win games.
February 28, 2017 at 8:40 pm #1443278@hatters, tend to agree with you on that one. Ibrahimovic is head and shoulders above everyone at both Liverpool and United. but when you look at the rest its even. while Mata, Makhritayan and Pogba are good. Liverpool wins in attacking mid department with Lallana, Coutinho Mane. defence its 2 by 2. with Milner and Matip with Bailey and Vlanecia. De Gea is the Clear winner.
February 28, 2017 at 8:46 pm #1443279Hatters, hasn’t Jose said he wants 4? My guess is its a centre back, an attacking midfielder and two central midfielders.
That will obviously change if Zlatan leaves. It sounds like he wants to go. He also might go for a left back but he would need to get rid of a lot of average left / right backs first.February 28, 2017 at 10:33 pm #1443312Hardly FSG’s fault. They appointed one of the best managers in the world in Klopp. You guys might not see progress but I see it big time at your club.I urge you guys to have patience.I think Klopp has money available and he’s waiting to spend it at the right time on the right players.
I follow your club closely,I can honestly say I’m ever so impressed.Look at your performances, dominant.I think fundamentally your performance and results against big sides. If you can beat the top teams, then you know for sure not only the quality is there but the mentality as well. The only think missing is consistency which will come with time.

Jones unfortunately is injured again.
March 1, 2017 at 3:39 am #1443340Jones and Rojo are the best partnership we have had this season, was quite shocked during that stint they had togeather.
March 1, 2017 at 6:23 am #1443351FSG have backed Klopp heavily in the market therefore any performance problems lay at his feet. Klopp had a good foundation at Dortmund, pre-tenure behind the scenes changes, that enabled him to build a fantastic team. It’s not like he has a bad team at Liverpool, just that his defensive coaching needs scrutiny. Klopp seems to have strange focus on only rallying the troops for the teams in and around them however those in the bottom 5 especially he seems to assume a win will be the outcome but results in high profile losses. The improvements must come from Klopp, his staff and the players, not the owners.
March 1, 2017 at 6:47 am #1443353Hatters….Coquelin is bang average, a very decent quad player but no more than that
March 1, 2017 at 7:42 am #1443359He is still better than Fernando though lol
March 1, 2017 at 8:06 am #1443365Liverpool’s poor results v the lesser sides and their good results against the top sides suggest that there is a mentality issue at Liverpool they raise themselves v the top teams yet struggle against the lesser teams and I’m fairly certain that we will see a different Liverpool v Arsenal than the one we saw v Leicester.
Offensively particularly up to Christmas Liverpool have looked like the best side in the PL but Liverpool always look capable of conceding goals, are particularly vulnerable to crosses and overall defensively they are fragile and are on target to concede another 50 goals again in the PL this season.
Liverpool suffer from the same problems that they did under Rodgers and until Klopp sorts out their defensive issues their progress will be hampered.
March 1, 2017 at 8:22 am #1443377thats us fooked then! unless we sack AW as someone posted on our page
FROM PHEMLABUSH:
Swansea FC sacked their coach and won the next game against Liverpool
Hull City sacked their coach and won the next game against Liverpool
Leicester City sacked their coach and won the next game against, guess who…. Liverpool.
Liverpool plays Arsenal next… Wenger should just be sacked so that we can win. Besides, no way out..
made me chuckle but about the only we will win against them on Saturday

March 1, 2017 at 10:11 am #1443466ye but manthistle, we played swansea in clements 2nd league game. He was there a few weeks to get his ideas across. same with silva. Hull and swansea were absolutle tripoe before they made their manager changes
March 1, 2017 at 12:15 pm #1443561its a normal trend players usually though not always respond to a new manager-it does not mean his a better manager but merely that a change can make a difference most of the times, however it also does not mean that positive results will remain in the longer run. At the end of the day 3 teams must go down. personally I think its very unfair as the teams that replace them are not stronger. I think a better system would be 1 automatic down and up and the other teams that finish 2nd and 3rd in the Championship play off with the teams that finish 2nd and 3rd last in the Premier.
March 1, 2017 at 12:20 pm #1443566teams that end up 4th and 5th and 6th do not deserve to be in a play off contention for PL-its ridiculous.
March 1, 2017 at 12:28 pm #1443575For the betting man who likes a punt, Rafa back at Liverpool this summer. Worth a punt, check the oddsm
