They said they got 175m to spend on deadline day. They spent 35m. Fuck em.

Klopp isn’t perfect or stupid either; and to be honest at the end of season when we went on a ten or so game unbeaten run and in that period we didn’t let in that many goals which shows that coaching (and tactics) also makes a significant difference to defensive solidarity.

Klopp obviously believes in his defender anf maybe last season you could argue that it was Mane and Coutinhos absence that derailed us as much as our poor defecse. I admit the defence is the weakest part but overall we are getting better.

Also the midfield role will be crucial, hopefully if they can learn to better screen the defence then VVD might not matter (as much…)

I think Michael Edwards and our scouting team is shite and before FSG,they need to be replaced.

The idea of klopp only wanting to spend on top targets is bullshite – how did klavan end up landing at LFC, was it just a friend’s present to another to balance the books.

BVB won the title while competing against the financial power of Bayern – how?

A good scouting team looked for prospects and nurtured them into good players and not taking average players and making them into good players.

Some may say Leicester – but this scenario is the same as Blackburn in the 90’s.

Klopp is not that dumb, when you’re not able to land your top targets, so you do not strengthen the team while others are adding quality to their squads, that’s shite talk again.

Many can agree that Tottenham defence doesn’t need that strengthening – but after letting walker join a direct opponent, they went for Aurier (a physical beast), Sanchez and Foyth – all 3 for less than 80 m,so do we agree that our scouting is not that good.

Scouting also, is not looking only to bring prospects/a confirmed world class player/giving our academy lads a chance but also working on replacement of players of your current squad in case of a departure or an opportunity (Ox for LFC or Mbappe for PSG after they took Neymar). There is no more Gerrard or totti.

If all you’re concerned about is the biggest net spend then I suggest you go find another team, heard Manchester has a couple that might suit you. Some of the comments on here are so childish it’s embarrassing.

A few days ago this popped up….

Like the ‘title talk’ thread of last season but without an implication.

Im rewatching the arsenal match here and I have to say that even when we weren’t scoring, some of our play was just wonderful. Regardless of what we win int he end, it’s still a golden age for our club in terms of the quality of football that we’re capable of.

How funny and irrational this thread pops up!

We are better than Everton of that I’m completely convinced.

Again I repeat this isn’t all FSG Klopp has had clear targets and stuck to that. The scouting and contract agreement wasn’t great but I think Klopp played a big part. He’s a strong character and I don’t think this was done without his full agreement

Absolutely. If the money hadn’t been there he would not have remained silent.
XYZ out threads every time things don’t go the way you want them to are immature in the extreme. We have a very exciting team at the moment so let’s just enjoy the ride

Oh my god, it is lucky you lot aren’t Arsenal fans, there would be a lot of parents cutting the nooses of their kids this morning 🙂

Everton a better starting 11 than us 🙂 🙂 🙂 Maybe Pickford and Keane would get into our starting 11, at a push Baines but at 36 nah.

Bob – I think you are completely correct, I seem to remember the same posters slating BR when he signed player that weren’t his first choice because he couldn’t get them, so he settled for second best, now Klopp is getting flak for doing the opposite. As far as FSG go, if the money wasn’t there they wouldn’t be making the bids. If you offer 500K for a house because that is what it is worth and the owners say no, it is not your fault and doesn’t mean you don’t have the money, these things happen.

Lets look at the positives, 1 player turned down Chelsea to join us, another turned down Arsenal because he would rather join us, would this have happened in any of the last 10 seasons? No, it shows how far we have come and that we are moving in the right direction.

MrMak – The is no way someone could not be on his computer enough, being on these sites cloud judgements, far to many people spend to much time on these and not enough in the real world with real people. Listening to fans of other teams, and from my perspective the only two teams that had better windows than us were the two Manc clubs.

Considering arsenals window pax…..we have had a blinder Lol! Chelsea haven’t done great, Tottenham a 5/10 window….so we haven’t done bad at all.

Moonster – Exactly judging us against our immediate rivals we have done pretty well seeing as we are probably 5th strongest financially wise coming out 3rd best in the window is not to shabby.

Did our scouting team not convince every player we were in for to sign? With only So’ton able to stand their ground!

Dijk wants a move to Anfield above all else, Keita had every elite club after him, Ox signed for us from our direct rivals and refused another rival.

We kept our first team intact for the first time in more than a decade.

Honestly, some here remind me of my cousin who had a fit every time he did not get a new toy at the local store back in the day.

NB – Great post, it is the now generation, used to getting everything that want right away, not used to working for things.

I see the usual fumers are out again.
Massive immaturity coming from the usual suspects but great to see so much common sense coming from everyone else.
Everyone’s disappointed we didn’t get our centreback target but the league doesn’t stop. We have a stronger team/squad than we did before the window opened. Will it be enough to compete in 4 comps? Only time will tell.
Played 5 game so far, won 4, lost none.
    Sit 2nd in the league.
In a really good CL group.
I’m looking forward to some fantatsic football days/nights coming up with our amazing attacking force.

Moonster too true about that other thread starting up the other day.
Football fans are fickle by nature but some people really take it to the extremes.

JC, you havent mentioned co-ownership by name but you have my nature. No money can exchange hands for the player, or he is co-owned as his contract (as you just stated) is still with RB. What other insults have you for me, cause you’re not throwing logic my way.

Anyway tho lads. Not getting Van Dijk after believing that these overly confident “ITKs” stating that it was done etc, was a crushing blow but maybe as some of you have said, maybe Klopp actually didnt want another CB. So, I’m dropping this FSG Out stuff. If the money was there this window, I’m going to assume they are willing to carry that forward to other window when Klopp feels the need to use it. Agreed?

I’ve never subscribed to the idea that our first 11 is inferior to Evertons but I still think we could have had a much much better transfer window.

That said, we have improved, not as much as I’d hoped but Klopp is the man to get the most out of seemingly most players.

I really think we needed that 5th CB but I guess Klopp really will just use Can there if needed (as I said yesterday just wonderign wtf we’d do).

Ginger, if you want a real answer. I wanted to be able to say off the bat that we were likely to challenge for the title. I think getting Van Dijk would have done it for me. anyway im moving on from this thread.

I don’t get the outrage either. We had the funds otherwise we wouldn’t have bid for those players. We’ve definitely improved our squad, and consolidating our top 4 status is progress. Consolidate our place in the top 4, then we can then move on to challenge the title, no need to rush things. Sure, not getting a CB is disappointing, and although FSG aren’t faultless in this, Klopp is also partly to blame. It seems fairly obvious Klopp was determined to only get VVD. It’s not FSG’s fault if Klopp doesnt want other alternatives. It’s wasn’t a horrible transfer window by far and people should take time to calm themselves down. We can still do good things this season.
