Nah Vodka. You can’t include Rafs’ PL games. He had just taken over a club in the relegation zone full of crocks and deaddwood withouht his own players or system. Over the summer he has reorganised, brought in staff and players – and the 6 games has to start from now. Then we can talk.
August 17, 2016 at 8:28 am #1168632Joe, you have to question rafa when he plays anita right winger/mid, 95% of us wouldn’t play anita, correct?
August 17, 2016 at 10:05 am #1168818My team tonight would be, darlow, mbemba lascelles gamez CBs, Janmaat rwb, Ritchie lwb, Hayden DM, perez shelvey CM, Armstrong gayle up top. Effectively 352. Defend with a back 5, attack with 6, if that makes any sense to you guys
August 17, 2016 at 10:15 am #1168830Umm no Vodka, I’m not goinm to 2nd guess the manager, whoever it is. But as a fan I will exercise my right to ask questions if after 6 games we have not made much headway. As you said earlier, it’s the results on the field that count.
August 17, 2016 at 11:38 am #1168998Not sure what the team selection will look like. Id be astonished if Anita starts, but who else can play wide? I’d love to see Aarons and Ritchie be given a bit more time. Dummett dropped for Clark ideally too.
August 17, 2016 at 12:39 pm #1169115I’d like to see Darlow in goal. With Sterry rb, Mbemba cb, Lascelles cb, Jesus lb, Hayden dcm, Janmaat rm, Colback cm, Shelvey cm, Ritchie lm, Gayle cf. Wish luck to the lads.
August 17, 2016 at 5:05 pm #1169577Dont come on here very often now but am still shocked at lack of activity on here. The old t.t. had much more characters & banter. Been open all this time & with relegation, Raffa appointed, multiple signings & a terrible start there are less than 1900 posts. The Ashley lovers alone would have posted them
August 17, 2016 at 6:20 pm #1169721Then people like you should come on here more often, spread the love. Let’s just fucking win tonight, get some points on the board, keep the ball, keep it on the floor, shoot at every opportunity, fucking score goals and win.
August 17, 2016 at 7:47 pm #1169820So let us all get this right vodka – you’ve been slagging janmaat off saying it’s his fault the right is where all then goals have come from, yet in your 352,yawn, you have his as right wing back and are expecting him to DEFEND as part of a back 5, bit of a contradiction really, sometimes I wonder if you know what you’re talking about.
August 17, 2016 at 8:08 pm #1169871I wouldn’t play Janmaat in a straight back four, playing him as wing back, gives him cover for when he gets in his lazy spells during the game. Interesting team tonight, don’t think any fan in the world would of predicted this line up, not even a TRUE fan, hey mav
August 18, 2016 at 5:31 am #1170138Like Vodka said, a very interesting line-up. And they did the job right. Man-of-the-match Hayden. Dropped Colback, Janmaat and Lascelles. Clark at fault for the conceded goal, I won’t dwell on that. It was his first game of the season. Gouffran at rm, he should be finding things easier at this level. Anita at rb, I would have preferred Sterry. But each time Anita plays fullback, he plays well. Congrats to everyone at the club for this first win. Really really hope it is the first of many.
August 18, 2016 at 7:40 am #1170210I didn’t see the game unfortunately, but a vital 3pts for us last night. Hopefully we can get a positive result at Bristol, and build from there, as September is going to be quite tough, tricky games. A positive sign from rafa, if he is not happy, he isn’t afraid to drop a player, even if they are captain, as he did in the beginning with shelvey, and now lascelles. We have a decent squad, and rotating players when they under perform might be the way to go, keep everyone on their toes as they say. PS, glad to see anita playing RB
August 18, 2016 at 10:23 am #1170522Dwight Gayle… you bought yourselves a gem.. he can be difficult to manage but the lad can score… put your money on 20+ goals this season… I certainly am… he has the ability to be one of the best strikers in the country.. too bad our succession of managers never saw what we did… not just pardew, we just seem to hire managers that play 4-5-1 with a big lump up front… would rather 4-4-2… Gayle nd Murray would have done so well together.. Murray is another one who will murder the championship…
August 18, 2016 at 8:53 pm #1171677So rafa’s record so far is, 4W 4D 5L 21GF 16GA. Janmaat has played in 7 of those 13 games, his record is, 1W 1D 5L 10GF 12GA zeroCLEAN SHEETS. The 6 games that Janmaat didn’t play, the record is, 3W 3D 0L 11GF 4GA threeCLEAN SHEETS. Does anyone find this an interesting fact?, because I f###### do, long live anita at RB
August 18, 2016 at 9:43 pm #1171746What do we think of sticking to £35 mill for Sissoko – will we ever be rid of him?
August 19, 2016 at 6:12 am #1171878Hey Vodka, these stats say a lot. I haven’t analyzed this way ever. I look at individual stats generally. It seems that Mr Janmaat brings nothing offensively and is a key component of our defensive problems. Take a look at these:
Janmaat
15/16->32 Apps, 2755 Mins, 2 Goals, 4 Asst, 5 Yel, 1 Red, 73% P.Accuracy, 2.5 Tackling
14/15->37 Apps, 3255 Mins, 1 Goals, 6 Asst, 6 Yel, 1 Red, 74% P.Accuracy, 2.8 Tackling
Simpson
15/16->30 Apps, 2613 Mins, – Goals, – Asst, 3 Yel, 1 Red, 71% P.Accuracy, 1.7 Tackling
14/15->13 Apps, 1185 Mins, – Goals, – Asst, 4 Yel, – Red, 67% P.Accuracy, 2.1 Tackling
Bellerin
15/16->36 Apps, 3240 Mins, 1 Goals, 5 Asst, 3 Yel, – Red, 85% P.Accuracy, 2.3 Tackling
14/15->17 Apps, 1562 Mins, 2 Goals, 1 Asst, 5 Yel, – Red, 83% P.Accuracy, 2 TacklingAugust 19, 2016 at 9:46 am #1172229Glad we got the much needed win on Wednesday!! also glad to see Rafa is not afraid to drop any player to do whats best for the team
the Janmaat stats are very interesting. i still think he may be sold before the window. Janmaat to me is another player like Sissoko, seems to have a better reputation (a so called big name) than he actually is. he has his moments when he looks amazing but on a game to game basis he is not actually that good and can be more of a liability to the team than a benefit. would much rather have have Jesus/Anita competing for that RB and even Sterrie and Mbemba possibilities
i am liking the hayden/shelvey partnership in the CM at the moment, still feel shelvey can up his game a bit more though and really show he can control games in the centre of the park
think its hard to judge the team at this early stage and with the transfer window still open its always a distraction for players and fans. i say judge end of September on how the season will go
still think we need a couple of attacking players. a winger who can take players on, skipping past a couple of players to open the game up as we are missing that at the moment (shame we cant get Knockhart as he looks the type of player to do that). Miss the odd day of watching Ben Arfa take on a whole team by himself from the half way line!
and we need another target man striker. still think Mitro will be the key to success this seasonwill be interesting to see if Rafa changes a winning team on Sat
August 19, 2016 at 5:31 pm #1173192If you want to look at stats, look at Mitro ‘s. The guy’s collected more bookings and suspensions than he’s scored goals. I’d sell him fast
August 19, 2016 at 11:23 pm #1173570Been away 6 weeks, this forum is still as interesting as paint drying. Will pass by in 6 more weeks or so. Oh and by the way, not giving a flying monkeys about the shower we are meant to support til death is quite possibly the greatest feeling ever. I genuinely don’t even think twice when I see the results, never will again til that horrific fat southern fuck has sold us on. Not a penny from me til he’s gone. Enjoy your season gents.
August 20, 2016 at 7:13 am #1173675Enter tooner, individual stats dosent mean much, very miss leading, especially comparing RBs from other teams. I’ve seen alot of Janmaat playing the game, and there are certain aspects of his game that he dosent do. Closing down opposition at the right time is lacking from him, cutting out crosses, even a simple throw in that’s thrown in a 50/50 situation, small things like that lead to the opposition retaining the ball, which leads to goals. Joe, who do you think would put in a decent offer for mitrovic?, we can only sell him, if someone wants him.
