I think Ibrahimovic will be used as backup for Lukaku. Ozil would be one of the three behind the striker.

We really need to sort the right wing, and I would prefer someone with out and out pace. Ozil would not be the star signing that we need to take us to the next level imo.

Glad Nose is fighting the recent charge for improper language on the touch line. He will lose, but gives the opportunity to show the FA how fucking hypocritical they are in charging him but letter others off for doing worse.

Hope he takes them to court when he gets the inevitable ban too.

@Teamtalk – Why have you taken away the really useful link at the top of the “YourSay” page? It meant that when you posted you were able to just click the link and it would take you back to the Home Man Utd Your Say Page, refreshed. As that link has been taken away you now have no way of going back, unless you click ‘back’, but that just takes you back to the original screen before your post.

So now, the only way to get back to a refreshed screen is to go out and then back into the website. It’s a bit silly. Is it a website issue or maybe just something that i’m experiencing?

    Cheers.

everyone is experiencing this mate, its VERY annoying, more annoying is the Eds have been asked in various ways threads created in general and on the issues page and not ONE response, the thing is they MUST have actually changed the code that had this in! its odd as there have been no other improvements or work so they seem to have deliberatly made it worse to kill the place off once and for all!

come on Eds at least let us know, many have asked, cant one of you find 2 minutes to respond?!

Yes it is curious why this feature has been removed. Its called breadcrumbs by the way, because its a trail of the path you’ve followed.

That we dont see changes doesn’t mean they dont work on the site, I’m sure there is work on advertisements. Perhaps the breadcrumbs conflicted with some change so they just removed the code. Its not as if we’re talking about a custom software here. The site runs on a free WordPress install with a free plugin Buddypress for the forum. There is a plugin for breadcrumbs so its just a few mouseclicks to install.

Strange as well is how the Eds have stopped responding to posts. I posted a question before that went a year and never got a reply. Makes you wonder howcome the Eds do manage to delete posts.topics now and then. My guess is they dont check the site, but will respond to emails. That said, thry do have somebody trawling through the posts every weeks to find posts for their featured posts.

But the site is what it is and there’s little we can do about it.

PS – For the non-technical here, if you right click on any page and select View Page Source you see the underlying code, which won’t mean much to most people but does tell you the plugins the site uses.

Didn’t realise you were so technical MacGuffin. So basically the Ed’s are seeing these and ignoring them?

No, doubt it. They don’t have time to review the site.

They’ll be someone to go over the threads to search for something to go on the main page every once in a while but I very much doubt it’s the Ed.

If you really want an answer you should email him.

I did a masters in computing back in the day before pc’s and floppy disks were invented. I have many skills, one of them being website development including forums.

Dont know what you mean by “the Ed’s are seeing these and ignoring them?”. I don’t think the Ed’s monitor the site. One of the reasons behind the decision to appoint moderators was so they didn’t have to. They should monitor the complaints forum but its blatantly obvious they don’t.

The strange thing is they do trawl the club pages for posts to use as featured and even edit them them remove the bad words. My guess is that the person who does that, does that and no more for the simple reason “it aint my job”.

Regarding breadcrumbs, I use Google chrome and have saved the United index page on my bookmarks bar so when I am in a topic I just click the link to go to the index page. Its not ideal but better than back page. There is an add on for chrome that will give you the breadcrumbs but I checked it and its not for me.

Ahh that’s interesting. Yeah cool i’ll add it to the favourites then and that should help. I remember back in the day when the eds would reply to certain posts and topics, always a good laugh having an ed in your debate. Such a shame that’s gone now. Although on the sister site, Football 365, it seems really overloaded with eds. They’re constantly updating, adding comments and new articles. They run a daily mailbox etc.
Shame they’ve left this one to deteriorate…

@happyhurling – The United Ed (NW) was good because he was a knowledgeable red and would often comment on points of fact and thereby settle potential argument. He would also make clear who said what and thereby cut out cases of people misrepresenting other persons views. Not good for you though is it.

Appreciate all your commments, especially those about the user experience of the site. You make plenty of valid points and they’ll all been noted.

A couple of things: the reason things don’t get done as fast as we’d like….we’re a growing brand of websites which now includes several multi-successful titles under our umbrella (TEAMtalk, PlanetF1, Planet Football, Football365 to name you four) and our devs are ridiculously busy and ridiculously over-worked. In fact, they have a never-ending pit of site requests to fix…

Hopefully, that puts to bed any accusations too that the sites are dying. On the contrary, they have never been healthier. That said, I appreciate the Your Say forums are a mess and need a lot of attention and your complaints (constructive ones at least) are useful.

As a final point, however, anyone advertising links to another discussion forum on these pages are in breach of forum guidelines and will be subsequently suspended from these pages.

    Many thanks. -Marshy

    Lordy Lordy, It’s Beetlejuice!

James I could understand the devs being “ridiculously busy” defence if we were talking about something complex or time consuming but we’re not. Breadcrumbs is a 10 minute task.

AND we are not talking about a new feature are we. Your ridiculously busy devs clearly found the time to remove a feature that was working and liked.

AND ridiculously busy devs doesn’t explain Editors not responding to posts. Fair enough, this issue was in the United General Say section instead of the Report an Issue one (that’s down to happyhurling not taking his medication) but you dont respond if it is in the right section. Can’t you get your trawlerman who goes through the site scavenging for featured posts to alert you or heaven forbid respond even.

PS – If you have too many children a child may die or least be under-nourished because their are too many mouths to feed for the food available (ie developer time). Planned Parenthood is the answer !!

@happyhurling – Your memory, like your credibility, is shot to pieces. Back in those days I would have royal battles with Lloyd and others who claimed the Glazer takeover was a good thing.

And I would battle with you and your dog pack when you tried to paint anybody who saw an iceberg looming on the horizon as plastic fans, not real fans.

James, you may as a company have several sites now and several YS pages among them, but all that shows is this site is actually dead as NO developer time has been spent on it (other than shoe horning some god awful ads that ruin the pages and loading)…

    NONE!

you still have team pages in the PL from ast year, none of the previously promoted teams are in, most pages including big clubs like City and (yuk) spuds have no posters at all, yet somehow those busy devs manage to make the site worse by removing links/breadcrums

no doubt Eds such as yourself are also busy (are you not just a BA?) and another reason why people have left, genuine quiries are not answered and no replies given (until someone trys to poach genuine users, who may just enjoy a better site, then like magic you appear!)

and now ive been chastised for that i shall of course not mention “other sites” in case you lsoe the remaining 5 posters you have

still its really spiffy how when you move your mosue the full page ad moves behind!

if your company has so many sites and clearly prioritises those ahead of this site and the Dev time needed then why not close this site and just make those other sites better and let others know?…oh yes, the big shiny ads that slow and mess up the pages would be lost revenue!

i dont mean to be saying this just to you James but unfortuantely you are the only one now who does come on the site in any capacity all be it seldom…

I am sick of the negativity on the individual topics on this site. I am sick of the foul language used by several posters. It should be possible to make a point, positive or negative, without the sick language used by these individuals. I believe that Teamtalk has lost many good correspondents because of this trait. Surely moderators could do their job and remove expletives before posting.

Before I go for the last time I would like to make the following points re United’s current predicament:
    1. When Sir Matt Busby retired United went through a number of years when success was at a premium. Attendances started to drop. Sir Alex arrived and eventually success returned as did the crowds.
    2. In this day and age of Social Media, trolls, negativity and emotive criticism have become the order of the day and fans are only satisfied with trophy laden boardrooms. That we have been unable to utilise the enormous revenues due to owners who are more interested in profit than our entertainment and success on the field, and a failure to restructure the Club, has fuelled this approbation.
    3. Football is at a crossroads, too much money is being taken out, some by individuals who have no place in the game. The grass roots of football are dying.
    4. I have great faith that United will rise again and am prepared to give my support as long as we play attractive football and eventually the trophies will return.
