The only way Xhaka is a box-to-box man would be if he caught a taxi every time he ventured forward. Matches last 90mins, it would take him that long to get from one box to the other under his own steam. Only a total idiot would consider either of these two clowns PL class. John Cross was talking about Glen Murray in a chase with Mustafi and underlined how slow they both were. I stated when we signed him that Xhaka would be a major flop. His passing is one dimensional and inaccurate, Ive never seen a player misplace passes as often and given most of them are sideways and backwards what does he add to our attacking play. He cant tackle and he is repeatedly caught in possession. He is one of the poorest players to play for the club in years and isnt even in the same class as Denilson. Mustafi can score from headers in the opposition area but is useless when it comes to defending in the air. He constantly loses his man and gives up in most games. These players are just not cut out for the PL and never will be, they will both fade from the picture and be offloaded just as so many others have. As for meaningless stats anyone who quotes them knows nothing about the game, its played on grass not a computer. People that understand the game give opinions based on what they see on the pitch, not what some meaningless taken out of context stats. Sadly modern day football since Sky got involved has attracted an lot of know nothing fools. The Stupid One is a prime example.

Andy528. going back to your point about Mertesacker and him being Head of the Academy or whatever position h’s been given from next season. Why do you think he’s a good bet for this club? I thought him to be a truly awful player ( last year’s Cup Final apart). I know his 90+ caps and all that for Germany but for the most part his displays were embarrassingly bad. His positioning was very suspect, he hardly ever jumped for headers, turned his back on shots, never seemed to communicate with his defence let alone his goalkeeper and never took responsibility as a leader or even captain should. I recall all those heavy away defeats one season to the leading teams in the Premiership where many of the goals conceded stemmed from him losing the ball on the half-way line. Now he could have been playing to instructions, but I doubt it as Wenger doesn’t do that, so why did he continue to make the most mistakes? My last memory of him watching at the ground was our 0-2 loss to Barcelona a couple of years ago. After the match he indicated that our loss was down to our missing a few chances when actually he was responsible for both their goals. Now if this sorry excuse of a player is in charge of our kids, what’s to look forward to?!
