I´m really curious to see what excuse the gunners have for the lad, its one thing losing your temper on the field but hurling abuse at a steward at the airport. Did you guys get more than you bargained for, one of the worst disciplinary records in football today and a racist. All for a meager 35 million pounds, its simply to good to be true. Laughing my ass off…. ROFL

Good to see the police doing something about it, racism against white people is usually brushed aside or ignored

The lad should be in prison. Not on a football pitch.
Arsene Wenger will always be remembered for signing an ill disciplined racist (if proved by court) guy.

No excuses here – the guy is a liability. Don’t get me wrong, I was excited about the signing and he certainly ain’t the only ‘bad boy’ we’ve had over the years, but a player needs to make himself valuable to the team before the fans are going to start forgiving him for bad behaviour.

It’s not just Arsenal – fans of every club are the same. Don’t know which club you support NB, but can you, hand on heart, say you’ve never defended a player that everyone outside your club thought was an animal that deserved to be caged?

All that said, there is no defence for racism whatsoever and I wouldn’t care if he was the best player in the world, if the allegations are true, then the police and the club should come down hard on him.

I actually love the bad boys of football but they need to make themselves indispensable for the teams.
I don´t mind them clashing with rivals etc. but what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch, players that are just foul tempered in real life, I got no respect for them.
I want the pitch to be a battlefield, if you catch my drift.

Agree with Bingo above, what happens on the pitch should stay on the pitch and, just like my curries, the spicier the better!!

Suddenly struck me, I was going to say I don’t recall him pulling up trees on the pitch, but in all honesty, don’t think I’ve seen him kick a ball yet, always seems to be banned on the few occasions I’ve accidentally put the Goonies on my telly… 🙂

Going by the amount of negativity concerning my team on here in recent weeks only goes to show we’re back. And i love it!!!

Jeez that last min winner against burnley really got peoples backs up didn’t it.

Anyway re xhaka – its just an allegation at this stage, I’ll wait to see how it comes out in the wash before passing further comment.

Let’s just hope Xhaka doesn’t go on a social media love-in organized by the Head-Goonies, we all know how hypercritical that would be! 🙂

Xhaka is not only pants and grossly overpriced but also an immigrant who racially abuses natives (allegedly) – talk about biting the hand that feeds you eh. An unmitigated disaster of a signing so far.

Considering there was a witness who confirmed this, it really begs the question of why two people would randomly come up with such an outrageous lie. Xhaka is probably guilty and since this issue is a police matter at least we can rest assured that justice will be done.

Arsenal seem to have a general discipline problem with Wenger (seemingly thinking he is impervious from discipline after blatantly criticizing a referee without punishment earlier in the season) manhandling officials at the weekend. Good job they finally charged him for his continued disrespect of the rules in the Premier League.

I think discipline problem is a slight over statement of the issues Hatters, we had the manager lose his cool which he (and many other managers have done before) and hopefully gets his just punishment

we had a red card that wasnt that bad (and looking at his other reds for us they arent so bad either when taken in context)

if he has racially abused airport staff thats a desperate and tasteless issue that will be dealt with on its own by the police as it should

i still dont think he is an unmitigated disaster, people would say that about Viera early doors….

@steveosnakeeye. Fair enough I guess. As fot my “Xhaka is a disaster” comment, I don’t it’s in question that SO FAR he is. As with all new signings he could still turn his form around but he’s got his work cut out for him.

Steveo, the comparisons with Vieira are inevitable he didn’t get onto anywhere near as much trouble in such a short space of time.

And for me, it doesn’t matter how bad the tackles are, if they’re reds, then they’re reds. Both times he’s been sent off it’s been for tackles that the ref could have gone either way on – he needs to stop making so many tackles where there’s even a decision to be made.

Might be my bad memory here, but I’m sure there’s been at least one other incident with him this season where a more lenient ref has only gone for the yellow.

The real difference with Vieira though was that he’d already established himself as one of the most important players in the team, long before he started his red card collection.

“An unmitigated disaster” behave hatters. Unless you’re referring to depay, schneidelin or di maria.

He’s had 2 iffy red cards and given away 2 pens. He’s very new to the league but i reckon he will turn good so i’m not too worried about him.

as for the alleged airport incident, nice to see that everyone has already found him guilty. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

talk about mob mentality, just goes to show how bitter some people can be.

@TTG. If my Arsenal supporting mates, the Arsenal page on this website, and Arsenal FanTV are anything to go by Xhaka has been bad thus far. As I said, he might turn it around but it’s an uphill battle for him.

Even though Manchester United players are not relevant to this topic I will entertain you: yes Schneiderlin and Memphis were unmitigated disasters but at least Jose pocketed a cool 40 million for them plus they are off our wage bill so you can expect us to flex some serious muscle in the summer.

Di Maria was a failed signing because of his personal issues but still topped the Premier League assists charts despite not playing for the last 3 months of the season, we lost about 15 million and he went AWOL so fair enough, it was disaster.

As for Xhaka abusing airport staff, I admit there that I have not given him the benefit of the doubt – there is a victim here who has a witness and there is no motive for two people to fabricate such an incident. It’s about time people realized that white people can be victims of racism as well.

What Hatter states about the incident, when you got two persons witnessing the incident there is not much you can say.

…so Gary Cahill is guilty of being disingenuous by TipTapChoke by evidence of hearsay on social media, yet judgement of Xhaka’s alleged racist abuse, with a witness confirming is “finding him guilty” prematurely.

    Oh the hypocrisy.

Personally not been impressed at by Xhaka especially for the money paid. But to be fair to the guy maybe he is just taking time to adjust…?

No idea if he said what is reported or not but if found guilt then he is one silly boy and I would like to see what action Arsenal would take against him…? KTBFFH

Sources close to me have just told me that upon reading this thread, arsenal have also decided to find Xhaka guilty of racism.

Starting with immediate effect, they have decided that a 4 game ban is sufficient punishment and it will commence immediately.

Only problem is that he is already serving a 4 game ban so won’t miss any further games than already otherwise planned.

Sources close to me also indicate that this is just a massive PR stunt by arsenal, they want to be seen to be doing the right thing but also don’t want to xhaka to face missing further games.

This move also only further highlights how a club can get their PR activity spot on and also shows that Chelsea are truly lacking in the PR department after their latest cahill gaffe.
