Watching the match and have to say that was a great opening goal from Wood, also was one of my bets for him to score first!!

Classy goal but apart from the odd other move it has been a mediocre 1st half, hoping for a great 2nd half from Leeds and for us to win 3-1… MOT!

Yep 3 great goals, I had Leeds to win, score 3-1 and Wood to score first, a nice tidy sum made on Bet365… I had my lucky mascot on hand 😉

Thought Wood took his 2 goals well, Green had a good performance and it was nice for Pedraza to get on the score sheet 🙂

It is great to get a bit of a cushion over 7th place, especially since we have some tough fixtures coming up!

How poor was Hernandez yesterday? His passing wasn’t acceptable and it’s been poor now for a while. We lost the midfield battle but that’s understandable they effectively played 3-6-1. Phillips had a great impact credit to the lad.

Defensively we’ve got 4 warriors who don’t look like conceding many. I’d take a draw at Fulham quite happily now.

You must be a really happy chap this morning Drew. Well done!

We ended up with three points in a game dominated by the opposition. The Blue Noses fans must be well cheesed off but this was a solid away performance from us.

Indeed Wood is on fire. He was rightly man of the match – played brilliantly as the lone striker and was in the right place at the right time. It is the first I have seen of Pedraza and he looked very good.

There is a togetherness in this team which is great to see. It was however we made an average Birmingham look like a top six challenger. There were some other things that were noticeable. Hernandez was just awful and should have been hauled off at half time if not sooner. Bridcutt seems incapable of a forward pass and the whole rest of the midfield was solid without particularly shining.

I was impressed with Berardi who stuck to his job manfully in an area where there was a real threat; the rest of the defence played very well too.

3 points and on to Fulham I guess. Another must win game.

I am obviously relieved that we returned home with another three priceless points and without the customary yellow cards. I spent the majority of the game tugging my hair in frustration at a performance that belied our top-four position. It was only after the introduction of Phillips that we started to look like a team with any attacking potential. That was when the nerves began to settle.

I guess everything moves in stages. For the last few years we were, week-after-week, serving up mediocre performances matched by dismal results and lowly positions on the log. This season, we’re continuing to serve up mediocre performances (although with less frequency) but we ARE getting the results and are handsomely placed. Coming from where we have been, I guess we have to be grateful to Monk and his coaching staff for the great turn-around.

Bridcutt (with his tendency to backtrack), Doukara, Dallas, O’Kane and Hernandez were weak last night. Once again it was Bartley, Pontus and Ayling who carried the donkey load. Full credit to Monk for resting Vieira and re-introducing Phillips (whose break from first team action showed in a most positive way). The lad oozed confidence when he came on and made match-winning contributions. Hoping that this is the start of a purple-patch for the lad.

So it’s on to Tuesday. Fulham’s stock is on the rise but they can be beaten. Hoping that there’s an all round improvement with both Phillips and Pedraza included in the starting line up.

Odd game of football. We were so second best for an hour, but oddly their goal was the best thing to happen to us in that game.
Thought we did the basics pretty well and improved as the game went on. Wood’s first goal was excellent -a genuinely classy finish.
Well done anyone who’d backed us 3-1. Ker-ching!
