After a couple of early games when we seem to battle and play to a system like previous times may well have been a blip.

Yesterday the first 30 mins i struggle to remember a worse performance in our PL time. No one seem to give a toss and a system what system. Last week was bad this was worse.
Bournemouth played in the same slightly windy conditions and played as they had set up but they could not believe eleven strangers would be the opposition.
We finally started to play a bit and missed several half chances which would have got us something from the game as Bournemouth position in the table is not false.
Another ref could and should have awarded us at least one penalty but we have got away with them in the past.
Hughes now has to give all the players a rocket and set a system up they understand and can play. He may soon be on borrowed time and if left too long it could mean relegation as we have been that poor apart from the odd game over a long time.

We have conceded 20 goals… more than anyone else.

We need a system to suit the players that we have – that is 442 with a flat back four and a return to man for man marking at set pieces. We do not have wing backs so three at the back needs to be abandoned – fast! MH also needs to look at Fletcher who, after a bright start, has been poor in the last 5/6 games. He would have stopped the shot for their first goal if he had stood his ground at not jumped up and turned his back at the same time. I know others have not been brilliant, but he seems to give the ball away more than most and gets caught in possession too often. We do have a really good squad, but the moment we are not playing as a team, maybe it is because they do not understand the system that MH wants them to play.

i agree Selby about 4 at the back which he switched to after the the disaster of a start.

I think MH bought his centre halves in determine to play the 3 at the back ( Zouma/Shawx /BMI) plus wing backs which works when all settled in and know the system.

On saturday in the first 30 mins Allen and Fletcher were trying to close down centrally on Bournemouths back line inside their half leaving a massive gap behind. Why ECM and jesse could not do this job allowing Allen and Fletch to sit a bit deeper and make the numbers up in midfield were we were over run. its like when Arnie and Bojan started they just watched when the team had to defend.Jesse was the most creative like Shaq who took two years to learn to track back and close down.
