Before I start, I am not ignoring Solanke. I remember when we signed Ings, and I was pretty chuffed. Played in a similar style to Suarez(obviously not at the same quality), a proper terrier of a player and could finish as well. Than he spent 2 years on the side line with 2 horrible injuries.

He now seems fit again, and raring to go. With Sturridge gone and Origi in Germany, we need support up front. I really hope and think Ings can give this to us. I have all my fingers and toes crossed for this boy, and so does my 10 year old son, who asked me if Danny is fully fit.

I wish Danny Ings all the best with us, I have a feeling he will show some quality game time over the next 4 months or so.

Yeah I feel for the guy and if anyone deserves a break it’s our Danny. As you say I hope he gets his chance and takes it.

He’s got that style that could be effective in a Klopp system but as someone pointed out on another thread he was ineffective against one of the worst teams in the u23’s so it makes you wonder how he could be effective at the top level. Maybe he’d fit in better playing with better players but it really doesn’t look good for him at LFC. Sad injuries have cruelled him as I though he was a pretty good player.

Ings, Solanke, Lallana, we will need them all to perform when asked to. It would be nice to see a few Mellor type moments from the fringe lads.

Feel for the guy but strongly doubt he’ll get his chance this season. If he can’t even get some minutes after games we’re leading comfortably it’s highly unlikely he’ll get to put a run of games together. He hasn’t been great for the reserves either so Klopp will probably wait till pre season to assess him again. I don’t understand why we’d keep players instead of signing new ones if we’re not planning to use them.

The guy was signed to be cover. But injuries ruined the last 2 seasons for him….Does anyone here think his hunger is any less? OK, he has not hit the heights in the reserves, but ffs. 2 years out guys. Studge gone, Origi gone. Surely this is a time for him to shine as cover(as he was bought). I give him a seat on the bench all day long, and if he gets a chance from there, I think he would lap it up…please dont compare the under 23’s to the first team. He was ready made cover for first team action when he arrived. I dont think his ability, drive or love for the game has died at 25…I would give him a go until the end of the season. who knows what could happen

Not sure if you’ve noticed but he’s been on the bench for a good few games now and has barely kicked a ball.
Don’t get me wrong I really like the guy butvya gotta ask yerself why doesn’t Klopp even give him 10/15mins?

Ings has barely kicked a ball in 2 years at the top level and you honestly think he’s going to come in and hit the ground running? If he can’t even get going in the reserves against significantly weaker opposition then there’s no way he’s going to be able to make the step up without playing regularly. Anyone would give him a go until the end of the season but Klopp isn’t even giving him game time at all, let alone a run in the side. Either Klopp doesn’t see the need to keep his reserves sharp and match fit or the more logical explanation would be that he simply doesn’t rate him as good enough. The question then has to be asked. Why keep him instead of signing someone you can actually use? The same goes for Woodburn. Why keep him instead of letting him go out on loan to get some much needed first team experience if he’s not going to play at all? The likes of Milner, Wijnaldum and a crocked Lallana are guaranteed chances to play but these guys don’t even get 10 minutes here and there? Anyone logical wouldn’t rate these clowns either and quite frankly they wouldn’t even make the bench for any other top 6 side. It’s a farce.

I think we missed a trick with Ings he should have gone out on loan for the first half of the season. Then we could have got something from him over the next few months.

Don’t think he was fully recovered to be able to go out on loan in Aug.

Yup time for ings to shine but hes not getting the chances because klop doesnt rate him enough. It seems that klopp will play ings or solanke only when he has to. Like an injury to the front 3 or rest some players before a big CL game later in the season. But you would think if theres any injury to the front 3, lallana is now front of the queue to replace.

We’ve seen last season when Lallana was fully fit and firing and he had to be moved into the front 3 due to injuries how ineffective he became.

Surprised he also didn’t go out and loan and we get someone else in.

That being said I would also give him so game time. One injury to Firmino and we could be screwed unless he goes and puts someone like Salah up top.

He’s backup and looks like he’ll only feature if Firmino is out. Perhaps there is also a recall option on Origi as a contingency plan.

spot on trazor, he hardly gets any minutes when we are winning games. It will be very interesting to see what route klopp goes down if firminio/salah get injured

lalanna can not play in the front 3 as shown last season.

we shouldnt be at the stage were we have to play players out of position.

Not a fan of Ings, he just hasn’t got enough quality or pace.

Takes me back to the days of us having Sean Dundee upfront.

There’s 11 league games left and at least 2 CL games left.

Can Mané, Firmino and Salah play in all these games including the 3 in a week next month when we play Newc, Porto at home and Utd?

Should we be in the position where they have to?
