Having seen this guy have 23 good games in 40 should we be loaning him out elsewhere? I just don’t think he’s gonna have the attitude to be a top top player although I hope I’m wrong!

We can only worry about Memphis at this point. He hasn’t looked improved in pre-season. This next season is make or break for him. No reason to loan him out yet.

I have no doubt he remains a talented player but I just can’t tell if he will break through. 50/50 chance I think.

@hatters I’m gonna say no chance. He’s seriously lacking a football brain a bit like Nani. Flicks n tricks are great but no end product and your value plummets. We’d be lucky to get £10mill based on last years performances.
Maybe a loan at say Everyon or Southampton could spark him into life?

I think Memphis needs to stay.

I would put him in the same bracket as Adnan both are very talented and should be doing a lot better.

For me this is a make or break season for both players and its high time they stepped up and if they don’t then ship them both out next summer.

Loaning is not the answer with these 2 players as they would go to another club with the wrong attitude thinking they’re the big I am as shown by Adnan when he went to Dortmund.

Loan definitely not the way to go. Give him this season and if he’s not producing the goods then get rid of him. No doubt there is talent there but as in many other cases perhaps it doesn’t suit the premier league. Maybe he could be good for European matches but that doesn’t make him worth keeping if he can’t do it in Stoke in December

I don’t see him overtaking Martial at left wing. And he can’t play RW or striker. So I don’t see where he could get enough game time to improve. I think one of Januzaj and Memphis should be loaned out or sold. That way they’d both be guaranteed enough playing time for us to make an assessment on them both. Unless I’m forgetting somone, right now we have six wingers:

    Martial
    Mkhitaryan
    Lingard
    Memphis
    Januzaj
    Young

That’s probably at least two too many.

Januzaj still only 21. Should loan him to Sunderland. He’d be first choice player playing in PL team. I suspect Mourinho will try to sell Young leaving us with Micki, Martial, Depay and Lingard.

I’d loan out Januzaj too. If he can get games elsewhere, get his confidence up and show some sort of form he can come back and fight for a spot. If he fails then let him go.

I don’t think you can loan out Memphis. He’d see it as a negative and wouldn’t try and prove himself. He’d just sulk. He needs to be given games. He seemed to do better last year in the European games so maybe he should be a starter in those games plus the odd league game to get his form going.

Agree about Memphis but wasn’t januzaj the same at Dortmund.

I think both players should be given one more year to prove themselves and be sold next summer if they fail to live up to their potential.

I suspect Januzaj just won’t make it. When you look at his whole career it’s apparent that the Moyes season is the anomaly and not the other way around. The likelihood is that he simply is not good enough. He should be loaned out and Memphis should stay to fight for a spot.

Dortmund was the wrong type of club for Januzaj. They were/are on the same level as us so if he can’t get game time with us he was never going to get game time there. He may flourish at say Sunderland or another lower prem team.

Can’t loan s 25 million quid player out, madness. If he ain’t going to make it then he’s got to go and soon. Personally, he looks to bulky and, as a consequence, a bit short on pace. Why can’t he play on the right cr by the way? As for Januzaj, shite, end of.
