you can say what you want but its clear without going or having the time to go into long debates that any particular relegion itself is either a sponsor for whatever reasons of atrocities or not and for persons of all makes to continually make excuses such as the religion has been perverted by violent extremists, the question is what makes them become like they are? Surely it is the relegion itself.

And yet another nutter goes on a rampage. What baffles me is the targets these nutters choose. I can understand shooting politicians, soldiers but why pedestrians and churchgoers.

@mufc – Many posters have commented on your posting of links without meaningful opinion. I’m curious, care to explain your thinking, your reason for it.

The shooting is headline news in all media around the world so it’s not as if you’re linking to something folk may not be aware of. And that you choose not to offer any substantial opinion or thoughts is hardly likely to inspire others to comment or to initiate discussion.

I find myself wondering about your state of mind almost as much as that of the morons who go on these senseless shooting sprees. I have the feeling you are the type who would put a disassembled AR15 along with full magazines on the table in front of a group of people you consider to be unstable, casually raise the topic of some controversy, then walk away with a smile on your face waiting for the fireworks to begin. Convince me, I’m wrong.

Mac – good post mate. As I alluded to in previous thread, mufc likes to spark controversy but does it in a way he can’t be blamed. Imo he’s a bit of a prat, and his repeated references to bumming are disturbing.

all that aside (and i agree) this is another shoocking indictment of american society, these school shootings kill more people than terrorism has in this country with bombs

also makes me wonder why there are not more lone wolf (actul terrorists) that use shootings or cars/vans as they have in europe in the US…..

I’m surprised there are not more mass shootings considering the number of nutters a country like USA has. And add to that, the people planning suicide, they could easily decide to go out in a blaze of (in)glory by wiping out whoever their pet peeve is. And you have the drug crazed who think they are Rambo. The list of potential shooters is long indeed.

In this incident I’m surprised the death toll is not higher. The shooter set off the fire alarm to ensure the corridors would be packed and the assault rifle can fire 100s rounds per minute.

As to your real terrorist point, I don’t think US demographics and geography radicalises muslims to the same extent urban Europe does. I’d bet the muslims are spread out into small communities in smallish towns so it becomes more like rural England as opposed to urban England. Its hard for the radical cleric to find a well populated breeding ground to set up shop.

A Muslim child asks his mother, “Mama, what’s the difference between Democracy and Racism?” Mother dressed in her Burkha says, “Well son, Democracy is when the British tax payers work hard every day so that we can get all our benefits, you know, like free housing, free health care, free education and grants to build our mosques and community centres, and so on, and so forth, you know that’s a Democracy”. “But Mama, don’t the tax payers get angry about that?” “Sure they do. That’s what we call Racism.”
